The Supreme UNDERCOVER/Public Enemy Sweatpant was just a small piece from the much anticipated triple collaboration from the Supreme Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Japanese label UNDERCOVER and Supreme working together is nothing out of the norm, but the two decided they needed to add another to the team, namely iconic hip hop group Public Enemy. The focus of the collaboration was “Fear of the Black Planet,” the third album from the group. Most of the pieces from the expansive collaboration focused on art from the album, mostly the album cover from artist and scientist B.E. Johnson. The collaboration collection was the most extensive up to that point of the year. The options included plenty of shirts, jackets and pant options. Sweatpants are now an acceptable option for daily wear, especially in streetwear. For their collaboration design the brand’s started out with the Supreme sweatpants made from comfortable cotton fleece. The sweats have elastic waistband and cuffs along with a inner drawcord design. But the the main attraction is the addition of the original album graphic all-over. The front artwork is split onto each of the leg panels. On the front we see the addition of the album title graphic and group’s name logo in red. Around the cuffs the album’s phrase, “The Counterattack On World Supremacy” was added on white. On the rear pock we see the UNDERCOVER and Supreme names added onto the sole patch pocket. Paired along with a matching hooded sweatshirt, the Supreme UNDERCOVER/Public Enemy Sweatpant was released on the Supreme webstore and most shop locations on March 15th, 2018.
