This week, Panini releases one of the first premium NFL sets of the year with 2021 Panini Black Football, and Topps launches an MLS Chrome set for the first time. Read up on all of these releases and more in this week’s issue of The Rip.
2021 Panini Black Football
2021 Panini Black Football marks the third consecutive year for the premium NFL set after it made its return in 2019. The base set totals 200 cards including 100 rookies, but the real focus is on the memorabilia and autograph cards. The autograph subsets are a mix of on-card and sticker autographs. The rookies in the set will include the members of the 2021 rookie quarterback class that includes talents such as Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, and Mac Jones.
Inside the 2021 Panini Black Football Hobby Box, you will find five cards – one Rookie Patch Autograph, one additional autograph, one memorabilia card, one base card, and one base parallel. 2021 Panini Black Football officially releases on September 3rd and can be found at local and online trading card hobby shops.
2021 Topps Chrome MLS Soccer
2021 Topps Chrome MLS Soccer is making its debut this year. The inaugural base set includes 200 cards and consists of a mix of veterans, rising stars, and rookies. Within the base set are nine different limited print run color variation Refractor parallels. An autograph subset will also be featured and hold top-tier players like Nani.
The 2021 Topps Chrome MLS Soccer Hobby Box contains four cards per pack, and 18 packs per box. You should find one autograph card inside each box as well. 2021 Topps Chrome MLS Soccer Hobby Boxes release on September 1st at local and online trading card hobby shops. Like all other Topps Chrome sets, retail boxes such as blasters are expected.
Pokémon Eevee Evolutions Tins
As a follow-up to the Pokémon Evolving Skies set that launched last week, The Pokémon Company is now dropping new tins that honor three of the fan-favorite Eeveelutions: Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. Inside of each tin, you will find one of three foil promo cards featuring either Jolteon, Vaporeon, or Flareon, four Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a code card for the online Pokémon card game. Seeing as Evolving Skies just released it is very likely that at least one of the packs included will be from the Evolving Skies set.
The Pokémon Eevee Evolutions Tins release on September 3rd for a retail price of $19.99 and can be found wherever Pokémon card products are sold.
