US Open Essentials

With the US Open at peak heat, tennis core style is going strong. Let’s make one thing clear — tennis is not all low-cut white sneakers, monochrome polos, and neutral colored visors. While those do exist in the sport, the opposite can also be true. Tennis has its own special style. It’s own flare. Take the Nike Tennis Classic Ultra Christmas Sweater (2015), for example. So whether you’re looking to start playing yourself or just aiming to embrace this iconic sport’s style, StockX has the top tennis essentials for you. What are you waiting for? Let’s rally.

Racket:
Kith x Wilson Tennis Blade 98 V8

Kith and Wilson teamed up in 2023 (and again this year) on a Kith x Wilson Tennis Blade 98 V8 racket as part of Kith’s Monday Program™, which features special releases and collaborations. The racket itself is made up of 100% graphite composite, giving the player superior control and flexibility. For 2024’s iteration, a blue monogram Kith for Wilson Racquet Crew racket cover is included. You don’t even have to use it as a racket – hang it above your mantle as decor. Nothing wrong with letting people wonder. Game. Set. Match.

Balls:
Palace x Stella Artois 3 Ball Can

In most cases, tennis balls are quite similar. However, recently, we’ve seen brands like Supreme, BAPE, and Kith offer a refreshing change of pace from the usual volt-colored spheres that we’re so accustomed to seeing on the hard court. Palace, the skateboarding brand based out of London, is the latest to do it. Palace and Stella Artois released these tennis balls as part of their Spring/Summer 24 collection. This limited-edition set features three high-quality tennis balls, approved by the ITF (International Tennis Federation). Without a doubt, the coolest part is the white canister that holds the Palace x Artois x Slazenger tennis balls. It’s reminiscent of a tall can of Stella Artois. Except it isn’t alcohol. It’s tennis balls — the obvious next-best thing.

Shoes:
Nike Air VaporMax Plus Tennis Ball

The Nike Air Vapormax Plus brings a whole new level to the saying, “See the ball. Be the ball.” These shoes are predominantly volt green, with tiny hits of contrasting black on the branded tongue label and miniature swoosh on the left ankle. These dropped May 1st, 2022 and retailed for $210. See? I told you it’s not all low-cut white sneakers.

Nike Court Air Zoom Vapor 11 HC

The Nike Court Air Zoom Vapor 11 HC will have you bouncing on your toes all day long. The Vapor 11’s design is lower to the court than any of the previous iterations, resulting in an incredibly lightweight court feel that allows for quick cuts and even quicker changes of direction. These released in July 2024 and this Volt/Armory Navy/White colorway is only further proof that tennis shoes do not have to be boring.

Shirts:
Adidas AEROREADY Tennis Ball Slam Graphic Tee

The Adidas AEROREADY Tennis Ball Slam Graphic Tee is an awesome tennis shirt with subtle style. At first glance, it’s everything you want in a workout shirt. An understated simple 3 Bar Adidas Logo sits on the chest, with an oversized tennis ball graphic on the back. The AEROREADY wicks moisture away from your skin to keep you dry, which means no more sticky shirts. The semi-green spark shade of green used here is attractive without being too boisterous. Overall, this shirt checks all the boxes. This is a winner.

Adidas x Sporty & Rich Two Tone Ringer Tee

Adidas and Sporty & Rich teamed up for this two-tone ringer tee and it’s everything tennis-core is about. This shirt dropped as part of their Spring/Summer 24′ collection and it’s the perfect look for both on and off the court. Don’t worry if you don’t love this tee in navy, because these also come available in white and red. Also, if you want to complete the look, Adidas and Sporty & Rich came through with matching track shorts.

Shorts:
Palace x Reebok Short

Palace and Reebok teamed up this summer. Although this collab featured shoes, jackets, and hoodies, their most popular piece might be these sweatshorts. The back pocket gets an embroidered Reebok logo, with Palace printed in the classic Reebok font on the leg. Work on your backhand in these. Chill around the clubhouse in these. Anything goes. After all, there are no rules with sweatshorts, and that’s the way it should be.

Towel:
Kith Wilson Eiffel Tower Towel

“That’s not the eiffel tower? That’s a tennis racket!” Boom. Easy conversation starter. The Kith Wilson Eiffel Tower Towel is the ultimate tennis core flex. When things get messy, you don’t want to be empty-handed. You want to look prepared. Use this to wipe the sweat off your face after the longest rally of your life, or drape this over your head after a tough loss. Because no one needs to know how much you needed that win, or that you’re crying over it afterwards. Nah. All they’re thinking now is, “Hey that towel is cool.” You get the picture?
