It's time to put together A Perfect Fit for Nike's latest silhouette, The Kwondo 1 Peaceminusone

This article is part 30 of 43 in the series: A Perfect Fit

K-pop superstar G-Dragon has been collaborating with Nike through his Peaceminusone brand since 2019, mostly working on the Air Force 1. But for their new project, the two brands introduced a new silhouette, the Nike Kwondo 1. Whether you were blessed by the SNKRS app or had to get the shoes at resale, you’re going to need an outfit well-equipped to handle these unique shoes. Make sure to check out StockX to put together A Perfect Fit when trying to match the Nike Kwondo 1 G-Dragon Peaceminusone.

Although the Kwondo 1, which gets its name from combining G-Dragon’s legal name, Kwon Ji-yong, and Nike’s “Just Do It” motto, and also the traditional sport of tae-kwon-do, may look unusual for the Swoosh, Nike is no stranger to dress-styled shoes. In 2012, Nike partnered with artist and frequent Nike collaborator, Tom Sachs, on a special friends-and-family pair of Nike Wingtip shoes for one of Sachs’ art installations. A year later, Nike released the Nike 1972 QS, a sneaker-dress shoe mashup equipped with Nike’s trademarked Waffle outsole. Lastly, Nike used to own Cole Haan, a primarily oxford shoe brand since 1988, and delivered many dress-shoe/sneaker amalgamations. Even with these two examples to work from, the Nike Kwondo 1 Peaceminusone still looks like it’s in a league of its own, with a smooth white leather upper and an elevated sole, both fashioned in a classic brogue style. For a sneaker that matches street and class so well, it’s important to find a perfect fit that features similar attributes.

Supreme Tiffany & Co. Box Logo Tee

The Supreme Box Logo continues to be one of Supreme’s most coveted items. Since the brand’s inception in 1994, the Box Logo has been featured in various designs and colors that could fit into any outfit or with any sneaker. Their collaboration with Tiffany & Co. in 2021 just might be the best box logo to pair with the Nike Kwondo 1 because of its light pastel blue. The Supreme Tiffany & Co. Box Logo Tee showcases the classic box logo with Tiffany & Co.’s trademark Tiffany Blue printed on a white tee. The minimalist design of the Tiffany Blue box logo is a perfect piece for the Kwondo 1s for those looking for an effortless fit that carries heavy amounts of hype.

Aimé Leon Dore Chess Club Varsity Jacket Green

Varsity jackets have seen a major comeback within fashion, with brands like Supreme and Louis Vuitton dishing out some various iterations of the classic letterman.  New York brand Aimé Leon Dore adds their own touch to the sportswear piece with this Chess Club Varsity Jacket from their 2021 Fall/Winter collection. The varsity jacket is known for its prep and sportswear background, making this ALD jacket a classy match for the brogue-inspired Kwondo 1s. This jacket features leather sleeves with chenille patches and a wool/polyester-blended shell. The green and white color of the Chess Club Varsity Jacket is a nice pairing with the white leathered Kwondo 1s, and is a suitable outerwear piece for the warmer seasons.

Aimé Leon Dore Plaid Wool Hat Green

This Aimé Leon Dore Plaid Wool Hat matches both the beautiful jacket and clean Kwondos. The classic tartan plaid pattern is a nice addition of color to the Nike kicks and green jacket and is subtle enough to bring the whole fit together. It’s high-quality suede brim and warm wool panels add a touch of luxury to your already classy fit.

Kith Kimono Blazer Plaster

Just like these Kwondo 1s, brands like Polo Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger have found a way to merge streetwear’s swagger with prep’s sophistication. Kith is also taking a crack at that same aesthetic with their most recent Fall/Winter drop, which featured a few cable knit sweaters, an overcoat, and this buttonless blazer. The Kith Kimono Blazer Plaster brings a clean design to a streetwear favorite. And depending on the occasion, this blazer is just as easy to wear with a plain white tee as it is with a button-up shirt. The Nike Kwondo 1s fit perfectly with this blazer because they both live within this hybrid preppy streetwear look.

Fear of God Essentials Core Collection Sweatpant Dark Heather Oatmeal

If you’re looking to make a full-on groutfit (grey outfit) with the aforementioned Kith blazer, consider these sweatpants from Fear Of God. Jerry Lorenzo, founder of Fear Of God and a recent adidas signee, has found a way to style sweatpants in a semi-formal way, matching them with blazers and overcoats, and he does it with ease. Putting together these Fear Of God Essentials Core Collection Sweatpants with both the blazer and Kwondo 1s will make achieving the semi-formal look an easy feat, just like Jerry. These Dark Heather Oatmeal pants are made with soft cotton, making them a great choice for all-day comfort, while their tapered cut and cinched cuffs bring a slimming look to your fit that shows off these brogue Nikes.
