One of the most graphic images Supreme used in their AKIRA collaboration came in the form of the Supreme AKIRA Arm Tee. Not surprisingly it was one of the most popular pieces from the large apparel assortment. Part of the Supreme Fall/Winter 2017 drops, the collaboration with Katsuhiro Otomo’s acclaimed AKIRA manga was highly anticipated. There was even a Fiat 500 created to advertise for the collaboration. Supreme was allowed permission to use original artwork from the AKIRA manga and this particular image will be familiar to anyone who has read or seen the movie. The “Arm” tee is a moment when Tetsuo loses control of his special abilities and his arm starts to transform in front of him. An iconic moment is recaptured in its original format and is front and center on the slate cotton tee. There is no exterior branding, the image itself strong enough to stand on its own. All four color options of the Supreme AKIRA Arm Tee were released at most Supreme shops and online on November 2nd, 2017.
