Collaboration is king in the worlds of sneakers and streetwear and Kith is amongst the best of the best when it comes to partnerships. What started as a New York-based sneaker store quickly transcended that status over the last decade, to become one of the industry’s most globally recognized brands. The brand is run by Queens native, Ronnie Fieg, who started as a stock runner and eventually became head buyer for David Z before opening his own sneaker shop. Kith opened in 2011 and in the decade that’s followed, the brand has become incredibly popular, in part due to their seemingly endless release of new and repeating collaborations.
Having mastered the art of the sneaker and streetwear partnership, Kith has collaborated with nearly every major brand you can think of. In the food and beverage industry, the brand has released collaborations with Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Lucky Charms. For old cartoons, they’ve done releases with Looney Tunes, The Simpsons, and Disney. In just the last year, they’ve worked with New Balance, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nike, Bergdorf Goodman, and Calvin Klein. A big proponent of taking the unexpected and making it something easily palatable, the brand even released collaborations with BMW and the MLB.
We’ve taken a look back through our catalog and identified the best of the best of this enormous number of collabs, so that you don’t have to. Of all the Kith collaborations on StockX, these are the ones that most deserve your attention.
Kith x Nike x New York Knicks
Kith, Nike, and the New York Knicks released their collaborative collection just before the end of 2020’s holiday season. The capsule included seventeen Kith, Nike, and Knicks branded apparel pieces and two versions of the Air Force 1. This Nike x New York Knicks Air Force 1 went on to quickly become the best-selling Kith item on StockX, outselling the brand’s other popular sneaker collaborations with brands like New Balance and adidas. The apparel from the collection was popular as well and in total, more than 3,300 pieces from the collection were resold on StockX. adidas Collaborations
Until the release of the Nike x New York Knicks AF1, two collaborative Kith x adidas sneakers were leading the way in all-time sales volume on StockX. The black adidas Ultra Boost Mid, a three-way collaborative sneaker with Japanese brand Nonnative, was previously the best-selling Kith piece on StockX. Its popularity has led to more than 2,000 sales, making it now the second best-selling pair of Kith sneakers on the market. Other popular adidas collaborations have featured partnerships with the sportswear brand’s soccer division. The ACE 16 PureControl Ultra Boost Golden Goal is the second best-selling Kith x adidas sneaker on StockX. The release’s promotional teaser video featured an appearance from professional soccer player and former BEEN TRILL member, Florencia Galarza. Tottenham forward Dele Alli would also be featured later in the partnership as the two brands took their collaboration to digital fronts by incorporating usable kits in FIFA 18. Kith x Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola is probably Kith’s biggest non-footwear partner. The two brands have been collaborating for five seasons now, and originally began their partnership near the end of 2016. Since then it’s become a regular part of the brand’s release schedule and a Coca-Cola collection can be expected at least once a year. Available on StockX are more than 250 Kith x Coca-Cola items from sneakers to apparel to collectibles. The most popular Kith x Coca-Cola piece on StockX is 2019’s collaborative pair of Converses from all three brands, which are made from denim and feature a Coca-Cola logo wrapped around the heel. The collaboration has also produced co-branded apparel, from t-shirts to hoodies to cardigans and rugbys, and collectibles, from model cars to door mats. The best of Kith and Coca-Cola’s collaborative partnership can be shopped on StockX here.
New Balance Collaborations
Kith was early on the New Balance wave. The two brands have been working together since the early 2010s and as a result, the brand has more collaborative sneakers with New Balance than Nike or adidas. Unsurprisingly, the partnership’s most popular sneaker features a slight modification on one of New Balance’s most popular models, the 990. The New Balance 990 V2 in Kith Grey has sold over 1,000 times on StockX since its release. This colorway elevates the traditional New Balance color palette, delivering the signature sneaker collaboration touch of Ronnie Fieg. All of Kith & New Balance’s recent collaborations can be shopped on StockX here.
Kith x Notorious B.I.G.
A Kith x Notorious B.I.G. collaboration isn’t a shock to anybody. The artist hailed from New York and the brand was born and built there; this partnership is basically a match made in heaven. For their recent 2021 collaboration, the label actually worked with Christopher Wallace’s estate, resulting in the donation of all proceeds from the collection to local schools in the Brooklyn area. As far as the clothes go, each piece executes well on blending of iconic Notorious B.I.G. imagery with the Kith ethos. This can be seen plainly in the Ready To Die Classic Logo T-shirt, which tastefully features the fusing of Biggie’s album art and the Kith logo. Every piece from the Kith x Notorious B.I.G. collaboration is available on StockX now and can be shopped here.
Kith x Disney
Kith and Disney released a collaborative collection in 2019 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse. As a result, the most famous mouse of all time was featured at the center of the partnership, delivering Mickey Mouse sneakers, apparel, and plush toys. Three different Disney Converse sneakers were released as a part of the collection and two of them feature imagery of Mickey through the years. The two brands’ box set of collaborative plushes were also a popular item. The Disney Plush Through The Ages Box Set features eight different Mickey Mouse Plush toys, each of which takes on a different version of Mickey Mouse as he’s been presented in his 90 year history. The Kith x Disney collaboration, from sneakers to apparel to collectibles can be shopped on StockX here.
Kith x Be@rbrick
Over the last 20 years, Be@rbrick collaborations have become commonplace in the worlds of sneakers and streetwear. It only makes sense then that Kith, an influential powerhouse in both of those industries, would have their own collaborative Be@rbrick. Kith has released three Be@rbricks since 2018, all of which follow a similar theme. Each of the brand’s three Be@rbricks boast a fuzzy flocked finish that feels similar to a velvet material, setting them apart from the traditional plastic finish that most Be@rbricks have. The Be@rbricks also feature a Kith logo over the bear’s eyes and tonal color blocking. The Be@rbricks are available in all three of the brand’s most popular sizing varieties: 100%, 400%, and 1000%. Buy & Sell Kith x Be@rbrick on StockX here.
Kith x Looney Tunes
Like many of Kith’s previously mentioned collaborations, their partnership with Looney Tunes features co-branded sneakers, apparel, and collectibles. But unlike the previously mentioned partnerships, the Looney Tunes Converse are not the most popular items from this collection. Instead, this collection’s most popular piece is the Looney Tunes Plush Set, which features grey versions of the cartoon’s most popular characters. This release also featured the inclusion of more than 30 different collaborative graphic t-shirts. Everything from Kith and Looney Tunes’ summer 2020 collaboration can be shopped on StockX here.
ASICS Collaborations
Ronnie Fieg’s relationship with ASICS pre-dates Kith, but when he first opened the sneaker store, that relationship came along with him. As Kith’s brand has evolved, so has the relationship with the Japanese footwear giant. One of the most storied ASICS releases in history was the Gel Lyte III “Salmon Toe” that coincided with the opening of the Manhattan flagship store and has become one of the most expensive and sought after ASICS ever made. But the life of the ongoing collaboration has resulted in dozens and dozens of colorways featured in tons of projects over the last decade. At this point it’s safe to say that there would be no ASICS without Kith, and it’s hard to imagine Kith’s trajectory without ASICS.
