We talk about dominance in industries like music and sports, but when discussing dominance in fashion, please mention Virgil Abloh. Virgil has been on a sneaker streak similar to Floyd Mayweather’s 50-0 boxing record. Every sneaker release from Virgil is a piece of history. Virgil has reached the point where he’s able to sell anything for any price and it’s a hit. With his most recent release, Virgil revisited a classic Jordan silhouette and created magic. With much anticipation behind the sneaker’s release, Virgil decided to drop the Jordan 5 Off-White during All-Star Weekend 2020 in his hometown, Chicago, Illinois. The entire city was on the SNKRS app nonstop, trying to cop what most considered to be one of the best sneakers of 2020 so far. Many tried to cop, but many ultimately failed when it came to grabbing these kicks for retail. But what did most people expect? Virgil is the man right now and doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
This Jordan 5 is comprised of a black textile mesh upper with translucent netted panels and circular window inserts throughout the shoe. 3M reflective tongues, fire red Jordan branding, and an aged translucent outsole complete the design.
