The Off-White Ikea Keep Off Rug Black/White is part of the first collaboration between Virgil Abloh’s Off-White brand and furniture goliath Ikea. The Large Area rug was one of the first pieces released in the collection.
The textile rug is black and white, with “KEEP OFF” across the middle. Virgil’s use of quotations is stylistic, using them to convey ironic detachment from society and social norms. In the bottom right is the “style code” printing that has become a staple of the Virgil designs.
While Ikea is one of the largest furniture and home accessory companies in the world, a collaboration with Off-White shows their willingness to be daring and try new ideas.
