The only headwear from the collection, the Supreme AKIRA Syringe 5-Panel utilizes original artwork from the manga. Katsuhiro Otomo’s original story was the focus of a special collaboration collection with Supreme, allowing the brand to choose images they deemed fit. The story itself follows two friends as they deal with a world where Tokyo is dealing with the effects of a massive nuclear explosion and the fallout from the events. But there is more to the story, and bombing, then the public knows. So in a world where gangs and anti-government activity happens, its no surprise that drugs are a major key. The image seen on the hat is one of the main characters getting a “fix” to help with his demeanor and mind. The cotton blend 5-panel is all black with snap enclosure. The Supreme name is embroidered on the rear, while the front has a woven patch of the artwork. Supreme also uses the same image on tees and ceramic tray. November 2nd, 2017 was the date Supreme released the Supreme AKIRA Syringe 5-Panel hat.
