Trends come and go and lately, the return of the denim jacket has been evident. The new Supreme Checks Embroidered Denim Jacket is another take on the classic model with the Supreme touch added to it. Part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 week 3 collection, the jacket was released with a few outerwear options that fans got to choose from. Of course many chose to grab pieces from the latest Supreme x The North Face collaboration, but there wasn’t any denim in that assortment of product.
Made in only two color options we see the black and red version here. Material choice was all cotton 14 oz. denim on the entire body. The denim was used on the exterior while the inside uses a quilted taffeta liner. One of the changeups from a classic denim jacket is the usage of a full zip closure system rather than buttons or snap closures. Slanted hand pockets were added onto both sides of the body along with an inner chest pocket. Adding to the 80s vibes was the addition of elastic onto the cuffs and hem. But the main design element of this version of the denim jacket is the addition of the “checks” graphic embroidered into the denim. Although we don’t use checks as much as we use to, obviously Supreme enjoys clearing fat checks. The graphic contrasts against the body and is something people will pay attention to on the street.
