Cordura began as a military-only material, then called Super Cordura, before being transferred to a nylon material by DuPont. Since the 1940s, Cordura fabric has gone through many usages, such as the hiking craze of the 80s with Jansport backpacks, ballistic variations designed for the US military in the 90s, and with Nike’s backpack and duffel bags in 2006, before eventually becoming a staple for streetwear and sneaker collaborations because of its incredible durability and ruggedness over the past decade.
