For the Supreme Spring/Summer 2018 season the streetwear brand collaborated with British horror film franchise, Hellraiser. Now over 30 years old, Clive Barker’s original film was the beginning of a long and storied franchised. Since its release in 1987 there have been ten Hellraiser films but of course the original is the most revered. The story at its core is actually a love story, but the focus has been on sadomasochistic creatures and their leader, Pinhead. A mixture of gore and eroticism, its no surprise that Supreme would enjoy the franchise. Pinhead turned in to the central figure of the franchise and the obvious choice for focus of the collaboration. His image was the focus of this trench coat that was released. Made from all-cotton denim in black, the coat has all the familiar features we expect. Namely full button closure, hand pockets and button tab adjusters on the cuffs. But the long trench coat’s main feature is the addition of Pinhead’s image used all over. His face is added on in a jacquard pattern all over the coat, front to back, and even on the inside.
