Supreme Metro Card

The Supreme Metro Card for New York City’s MTA caused a frenzy when they released in New York in 2017. Technically part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, the branded cards were made announced via the New York City Transit Twitter account on February 20th, 2017. Soon after the tweet dropped information spread that the cards would only be sold at the subway stations at Broadway-Lafayette, Queens Plaza, Marcy Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Prince Street, Spring Street, Union Square, and the 125th Street 2/3 train, along with of course the physical Supreme store locations. The cards were pre-loaded with two rides, but could of course have additional fares added if you went to a machine to grab one (or five) and not a store. The lines for the cards were longer than when terminals are down during rush hour on a Friday before a holiday weekend. For many this was the cheapest and easiest way to get their hands on something with the Supreme red and white on it. With the recent news that a new contact-less system will be implemented by 2019 and the old cards phased out by 2023, the Supreme MTA Metro Card will be a true piece of New York history and one of the most unique Supreme accessory releases of all time..
