Woo’s The Killer is a Hong Kong action film about the Hong Kong Triads with a love story tied in. Originally released in 1989, The Killer has amassed a cult-like following over the years much like Supreme has in the streetwear world. The Killer is the first film that John Woo used the symbolism of white doves that his become his signature. He’s also said that The Killer was made in part as a tribute to Pierre Melville and Martin Scorsese, two filmmakers that Woo greatly admires. The Supreme x The Killer Trust shirt features the quote, “In our profession, we shouldn’t trust anyone” emblazoned across the back. While the front of the tee features the infamous scene in which Ah Jong, played by Chow Yun-Fat, and Detective Li Ying played by Danny Lee, meet face to face guns drawn. The Supreme box logo in the lower corner adds the perfect touch to the image. The inclusion of Wu Tang’s RZA in the preview video for the Supreme x The Killer releases, cements this collaboration with John Woo into the cop lists of the true collectors.
