The Supreme UNDERCOVER/Public Enemy Hooded Sweatshirt was one of the popular pieces from the anticipated triple collaboration from the Supreme Spring/Summer 2018. Japanese label UNDERCOVER and Supreme working together is nothing out of the norm. But the brands decided they needed to add another to the dream team, namely iconic hip hop group Public Enemy. The focus of the collaboration was “Fear of the Black Planet,” the third album from the group. Most of the pieces from the collaboration focused on the special art commissioned for the album cover. Supreme’s pull-over hoodie is always a popular item so it was no surprise to see the brand’s feature it with the artwork. The piece starts off as the familiar Supreme piece made from cotton fleece. Details included matching hood cords and on seam hand pockets. They went away from the more often used pouch pocket as to not take away from the printed graphic. The special album artwork is added onto the entire piece. The front features the imagery of the planets front and center with the addition of the album’s phrase “The Counterattack On World Supremacy” and the Public Enemy name logo added. We also see the group’s logo added onto the right sleeve. On the rear we see both Undercover and Supreme names added along with the album’s title graphic in bold yellow. The hoodie went for sale online and at most Supreme stores on March 15th, 2018 for a retail price of $218. Not surprisingly the Supreme UNDERCOVER/Public Enemy Hooded Sweatshirt was a quick sell out.
