In his second full season on the PGA Tour, golfer Cameron Champ has been making a name for himself with his sizzling play on the course. Rooted in community and family, he’s also been working just as hard off the course with his recently started Cam Champion Foundation. Cam recently visited StockX with Stephen Malbon and Skratch TV during the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Check out the video and “That’s 5” interview below.
The following interview has been lightly edited.Ā
What Influences you?
Iām a very family-oriented man, so I would have to have to say, my grandfather. Heās the backbone to my family and always has been. With the times he had to face, heās someone who I genuinely look up to.
Whatās the most overrated?
I would say money. Iāve known a lot of people who couldnāt afford a $1 beverage and people who can buy 10 Ferraris, so having early success in my career shows me that money doesnāt make me happy and never will, There are other things in life that can make me happy.
Whatās the most underrated?
I would say friendships. Having support with you no matter what adds the positive aspect to things. Also, for a lot of things, itās all about who you know in the business world. When you build friendships, it provides you with opportunities.
What are you most excited about right now?
The process of being a professional golfer, especially with me being in my rookie year and playing in the PGA tournament, is really exciting. Thereās a lot of ups and downs that come with golf, but thatās part of the game. Thatās why I love it, and I try to get at least one percent better each day.
Whatās next for you?
We just got my foundation going back home in Sacramento,Ā The Cam Champion Foundation.
