For our fifth episode of Details, we’re celebrating every sneakerhead’s favorite holiday with a special Air Max Day special, getting more familiar with a highly sought-after sneaker, Nike Air Max 1 “Master”.

Officially released in 1987, Tinker Hatfield’s OG Nike Air Max 1 would not only be his first sneaker ever but also the first pair of shoes to have a visible Air Max unit. Since then, brands like Atmos, KAWS, and many more have released colorways in the legendary AM 1 silhouette that go for a crazy price tag in today’s StockX market. Back on Air Max Day 2017, Nike decided to celebrate the day by honoring the Air Max 1 30th anniversary and release a new Air Max 1 colorway. The limited Air Max 1 “Master” was released and dripped out in a “What The” style colorway, filled with original and Atmos collab colorways. For this year’s Air Max Day, we’ve decided to bring back the limited sneaker and show what people might’ve missed during its official release.

This Air Max 1 is covered in a black premium leather upper with a multicolor mudguard that has OG Red, Atmos animal print, OG Blue, and Patta’s Chlorophyll accents. Black Nike “Swoosh”, black Air Max unit, and a gum-colored sole.
