In its first year, basketball players from high schools to the NBA were rocking Nike Air Force 1s. Although the AF1 became outdated for performance only a few years after its debut, it received a new life in the streets. Cities like Baltimore and New York embraced the chunky appeal of the AF1 and now almost 40 years later, it is an icon in street culture. After the Air Force 1, Nike continued to use Air Force technology on new silhouettes. The Nike Air Force 2 and Air Force 180 are the most recognizable silhouettes in the Force family outside of the OG.
