Nike Kobe 3

The Nike Zoom Kobe 3 features a heavily textured upper that recalls the net of a basketball hoop. This look wasn't just an aesthetic decision, although it did set up some great contrasting colorways. The netting also helped support the foot. Other cutting-edge technology built-in to the Kobe 3 included a carbon fiber plate in the sole. A full-sized Zoom Air unit was also incorporated into the midsole to improve comfort for the wearer. Nike hasn't revisited the Kobe 3 much since the first release. One of the only re-releases of this shoe is the Nike Kobe 3 Prelude Misery, in 2013. Designed to reflect Bryant's feelings after losing to the Celtics in the NBA Finals, this is a dark shoe with angry pops of color. Most other colorways, like the White/Varsity Purple-Varsity Maize, are less busy and date to the 2007-08 era of the original.
