In 2017, Off-White founder Virgil Abloh — a trained engineer, architect, and fashion designer — embarked on a commemorative collaboration with Nike called "The Ten." The idea was to reimagine 10 of the sneaker brand's iconic kicks through a postmodern lens. 查看更多
The project was split into two phases, "The Revealing" and "The Ghosting." The latter featured translucent details, and the former, of which the Off-White x Jordan 1 is a part, was rooted in reconstructive design principles. The first silhouette in the collection includes exposed details, Abloh's signature words-in-quotes motif, and the original Chicago colorway with an added orange pop and aqua accent capping a raised, craft-inspired swoosh. Subsequent releases featured colorways like the University Blue and White. The sneaker regularly lands on "Best Of" lists and is a highly sought-after collectible item.
