Jordan Brand is dusting off another gem from their archives with the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red. The legendary Jordan 5 model debuted in 1990 and if you were fortunate enough to see Michael Jordan play in the 90s, then you know how noteworthy the AJ 5 was to his career. In his fifth season as a Bull, MJ won his second MVP award, averaged 32 points per game, and led the Chicago team to 61 wins, and he achieved all of this while wearing the Air Jordan 5s. The Fire Red colorway of the Jordan 5 introduced the silhouette to the public, and has since been retro’d four times.
For this round of Details, we focus closely on the Jordan 5’s return in both OG shape and color. The shoe consists of a white leather upper, classic mesh panelling, and iconic Nike Air logo on the heel to keep it as true to its original form. The silver reflective tongue brings it all together, stamped with Jordan’s signature Jumpman stance.
