Conversations between friends about kicks and things.

Welcome to Common Interest, a new blog series to encourage all of you to spark up conversations with others in the sneaker community. While many think that social engagement exists primarily for likes and clout, we’re pushing that to the side for actual interaction with friends! Remember that?

And when we’re chopping it up with friends about an upcoming release, there’s so much around a shoe to talk about. The technology, resale market, materials,  scarcity, design and anything else fellow heads might want to discuss regarding a shoe. I’ve always loved kicks but personally it is the community that really made sneakers stick for me. I’ve formed some amazing friendships on my journey through sneakers, there really is something special about this tangible product that has brought us all together.  The Common Interest!

This week I hit up my boy freehand Profit about the upcoming release of the Bodega x New Balance 997s No Bad Days. I already know he is going to have something to say about this drop because we have been friends for such a long time, but I felt compelled to talk about him of all people since we are both suckers for teal / purple colorways.

Aside from being the king of dad shoes, New Balance is also notable for making super lux collaborations with some of the best materials around. So I’m not shocked that these bodegas are heating up the way they are. It’s refreshing to see the hype train making it’s way to some of the more overlooked brands.

I’m already seeing the internets going nuts about these before tomorrow’s drop. So hit the poll below and let us know where you weigh in!
