June was a transitional month for the regular big hitters this year as Palace closed out their Summer season and Supreme released every summer accessory under the sun. As for Streetwear’s less regular powerhouses, June was a big month. KAWS returned and reunited with Uniqlo for a final capsule, Virgil did all the things, and Kawhi brought Toronto a trophy and all of us some tees. Scroll down to read deeper into what the smaller fish were doing in June and don’t forget to click the photos to shop.

KAWS x Uniqlo

Last month, KAWS released what was announced to be his final collaborative collection with Uniqlo’s UT line. The popular collection resulted in not only a crashed site but also in literal riots, fighting, and mannequin dismembering in Chinese malls. Sold out everywhere, the collection lit up StockX, leading to several tees breaking the top sold items on StockX in the last 12 months less than a month after releasing. Shop a selection of the drop below and the entire collection on StockX here.

Virgil Abloh, A Man Of Many Extracurricular Activities

Virgil Abloh was potentially the busiest man alive in June and that is not an exaggeration. Despite showing full menswear collections in Paris (Off-White and Louis Vuitton) for what most would consider their full-time positions, Virgil found time to post an entire exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, continue his ongoing collaboration with Nike, and create a furniture exhibit with Swiss furniture company, Vitra. His work with MCA Chicago yielded an abundance of merchandise, including throwback Pyrex tees, a collaborative Off-White tee with Tom Sachs, and multiple books. His work with Nike in the month of June resulted in the release of Women’s running gear, including the Blue and Black Easy Run Tops which can be shopped on StockX here. Virgil’s first collaborative release with Vitra came in the form of an Orange Ceramic Block which can be shopped on StockX here. Kawhi New Balance

One of the larger news stories to come out of June was Kawhi Leonard’s undoing of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Following the win, New Balance dropped several tees to celebrate, releasing two tees featuring comical phrases playing off of the robot-like character that Kawhi has become in the NBA. The “Fun Guy” tee is an obvious poke of fun that any fan of sarcasm and/or irony can enjoy and the “Board Man Gets Paid” tee has an even more interesting backstory. The phrase comes from something that Kawhi would often utter after collecting a rebound while in high school and college. His former teammates state that he’d say something of the sort every time he’d pull down a board. Both tees can be shopped on StockX below.

Nike x Stranger Things

With the hit Netflix Original, Stranger Things, making its return in July, it only seemed right that Netflix further boosted the hype by collaborating on some kind of Hawkins-inspired merch collection. With Nike, they did just that, releasing the first of a two capsule sneaker and apparel drop in June. The apparel was primarily focused on the actual high school attended by the characters of the show, Hawkins High. Featuring two different colorways of a tee, hoodie, and sweatpants as well as a Hawkins High branded hat, the collection offered a full selection of items for the Stranger Things super-fan. A selection of the Stranger Things apparel collection can be shopped below and the whole thing can be shopped on StockX here.

Travis Scott Reese’s

One of the less expected releases in June was Travis Scott’s collaborative collection with cereal brand, Reese’s Puffs. While we are not approved to trade food on StockX (hence no cereal box), the collaborative Spoon and Cereal Bowl were added to the site. This marks yet another of Travis Scott’s many endeavors outside of just music. Literally anything could be next. Shop the Travis Scott Spoon and Cereal Bowl here.

Awake

Angelo Baque’s brand, Awake NY, was back again in June releasing more logo pieces alongside two collaborative pairs of Asics Gel-Kayano 5’s. Highlights include the Green 3M Logo tee and the Green Gel Logo Hoodie. All Awake pieces added in June can be shopped on StockX here.
