We stand at the dawn of a new era, ladies and gentlemen. A world where shoelaces are nothing more than a memory, and sockliners and multi-layer uppers simply cease to exist, dispatched from this earth with the suddenness of a Thanos finger snap. Here one day, dust the next. This new era shall be known henceforth as āThe Age of Foam Based Footwear & Slip Ons more generallyā (weāre still working on the name). Now take my hand and join me in a more comfortable future.
Crocs Classic Clog Coca-Cola
The Coca-Cola branding is perhaps the worldās most recognizable, synonymous with refreshment and good times wherever you go. You know what else screams out good times? Thatās right, a pair of Crocs. This is a classic link up of two powerhouse brands and might be the perfect footwear choice for summer. These dropped back in 2021 and sold out quickly, so donāt delay and cop your pair today.
adidas Yeezy Foam RNNR MX Sand Grey
If thereās one thing I know, itās that people love the Foam Rnnr. Itāsā¦captivating, thereās no other way to say it. The one-piece shoe is made from a mix of EVA foam and algae, so you can feel good about the environmental impact of your flex next time you rock these.Ā
The Foam Rnnr debuted back in 2020 and set the Internet on fire. Two years on, and Ye is still releasing both tonal colourways and more interesting colourways like the Sand Grey.Ā
ASICS ACTIBREEZE 3D Sandal Black
OK technically not a foam based shoe, but Iām prepared to take it with me into The Age of Foam Based Footwear & Slip Ons more generally just because it is crazy how comfortable this thing is. The ASICS ACTIBREEZE 3D Sandal is 3D printed and features a wide base for stability and comfort. The open structure of the lattice means breathability is emphasised, helping you keep your feet cool in a way traditional slides donāt allow.Ā
This is the most comfortable slide youāve never worn.
Merrell Hydro Moc Boulder
The mighty Merrell Hydro Moc is one of the best kept secrets in slip-on shoes. Featuring a future ready design with plenty of ventilation, the Hydro Moc also has contoured arch support and an articulated heel. Thereās a strap you can flip forward for when things get hectic – I wouldnāt jump out of a plane without the strap forward (just in case), but you might also flip it forward if youāre wading in shallow water at the beach, that type of thing. If Crocs arenāt your thing, come on over to Merrell World (not a real place) and slip into something more comfortable.
Prada Foam Rubber Mule Light Blue
When the rest wonāt do, you head for the best. Treat your feet to the ultimate in luxury with the Prada Foam Rubber Mule. These feature a tonal version of Pradaās classic triangle logo and Prada branding on the insole. They have a foam rubber sole at 25mm, offering you all day comfort for whatever youāre up to.
Stunning, darling.
Crocs Pollex Clog by Salehe Bembury Cobbler
The Crocs Pollex Clog Salehe Bembury Cobbler arrives in a similar fashion to prior releases, being that it has a monochromatic fingerprint-looking foam construction and adjustable velcro heel straps for secure fit. The main standout of the Cobbler is the peach-inspired bright orange colour, which isn’t a new adventure for Bembury – his first New Balance 2002R featured a similar palette.
The one pro tip I can give you on these is that they run large, so size down accordingly.
adidas Adilette 22 Slides Carbon Aluminum
The adidas Adilette 22 Slides Black Grey design deviates from Adidas’s standard line of slides, which frequently sport the company’s classic long-stripe branding, and instead favours a more practical and Yeezy-like style.
The exterior of the adidas Adilette 22 Slides Black Grey has terrace-like shaping instead of an athletic structure and an obvious adidas logo. A Cloudfoam Plus contoured footbed provides padded cushioning for the slides. Its upper material is synthetic and was formed under Eva technology. The slides’ upper and outsole are composed of polyurethane, and the footbed is constructed from ethylene-vinyl acetate.
