As we ring in the New Year, Nike and other brands slow down the pace from the usual amount of sneaker releases. But, as the saying goes, less is more as Bodega’s unique Nike Dunk, a new Lebron 8 retro, and Jordan Brand’s futuristic Jordan 11 are all set to release. Check out these drops and more in our latest Drop List.

Nike Dunk High Bodega Legend

2020 is the year full of surprises, and Nike’s collaboration with Boston-based boutique, Bodega, on the Nike Dunk High feels like it came out of nowhere. Unlike any other Dunk to drop in 2020, this special partnership delivers a heavily detailed sneaker, which, described by the shop, is based on “Classic Americana.” The unexpected release merges two sports, basketball and baseball, into one while hitting on cultural moments in American style and history.

The Nike Dunk High Bodega Legend Fauna Brown Constructed to look like a traditional baseball mitt, the Nike Dunk High Bodega Legend Fauna Brown’s upper features a mix of textures and hues, as both suede and pebbled leather make up the majority of the sneaker. In addition to materials, specific details such as iron-branded Bodega on the medial side, jeweled tortoiseshell Nike Swoosh on the lateral side, and rawhide lacing throughout the sneaker’s entirety elevate the sneaker’s status. A stash pocket is added inside the tongue, a head nod to a baseball mitt’s inner webbed pocket.

The Nike Dunk High Bodega Legend Fauna Brown released this Monday on Bodega’s site but will be followed by a SNKRS app drop on 12/30 for $120.

Air Jordan 11 Adapt

If there is one thing constant with sneaker releases, it’s that the Air Jordan 11 never misses a holiday season. But this year, Jordan Brand gifted us two new colorways of the Jordan 11, introducing a new form of the shoe to add to its legacy. The Jordan 11 Adapt is the first self-lacing Air Jordan to ever release, marking new territory for accessible footwear for those with disabilities as well as upgrading technological advances to sneaker culture.

The Air Jordan 11 Adapt delivers a unique approach to the traditional basketball sneaker. The upper is composed of its quintessential patent leather wrapping, while mixed with lightweight textile material and a crimson Jumpman on the heel. The midsole is where things get interesting, featuring light-up buttons to help adjust the shoe’s tightness to the wearer’s liking. As always, the outsole holds a carbon fiber plate for stability on the court.

The Air Jordan 11 Adapt drops this week, December 30th, for $500 on the SNKRS app and other Jordan Brand stockists.

Nike LeBron 8 Lakers

With every championship ring, LeBron James continues to cement his place in basketball history. As his popularity grows and Nike continues to develop new signature sneakers, his older models become more admired. To continue the legacy that is LeBron James, Nike has been retroing his older signature kicks. This week is the return of the LeBron 8, a sneaker that last released in 2011.

The Nike LeBron 8 Lakers don the LA team’s notable purple and gold colors. Home of the greats like the late Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, and now, LeBron James, the sneakers pay homage to the popular west coast franchise. The latest LeBron 8 retro adds a new luxe look to the model, dressing the sneaker’s upper in premium suede. Familiar aspects of the silhouette come through on this Lakers colorway, such as LeBron’s iconic Lion logo embossed on the tongue and his signature stamped on the heel.

The Nike LeBron 8 Lakers release on December 30th for $200 on the SNKRS app and other Nike stockists.

Nike NDSTRKT Air Max 95 Neon

2020 marked the 25th anniversary of the famous Nike Air Max 95 model and its debut Neon colorway. The sneaker continues to be a staple for over two decades. But just like the classic Jordan 11’s revamp this year, the Air Max 95 is released as an NDSTRK model.

The new Nike NDSTRKT Air Max 95 Neon combines a futuristic and utilitarian spin on the Nike runner. The upper is the biggest upgrade to the Air Max sneaker, with an added TPU cage and durable webbing for indestructibility. Reflective elements on the sneaker’s eyelets complete this street-ready design.

The Nike NDSTRKT Air Max 95 Neon releases on December 30th for $200 on the SNKRS app and other Nike stockists.

Nike LeBron 18 X-Mas In LA

Another reliable release during the holiday season is from LeBron James and Nike. The King gets a dual release on the same day as his latest Nike LeBron 18 gets a seasonal holiday touch.

The Nike LeBron 18 X-Mas In LA adds to the tradition of Christmas-themed LeBron kicks. The sneaker is composed of an entirely red-knitted upper with hits of white speckled throughout to represent snowfall during the winter season. From there, subtle additions of gold trim appear on the toe’s Nike swoosh and midsole plate. Air bubbles with white dots appear on the tongue to give the illusion of a snowglobe, a favorite piece for the holiday.

The Nike LeBron 18 X-Mas In LA also releases December 30th for $225 on the SNKRS app and other Nike stockists.
