This article is part 0 of 0 in the series: Australia

Spring is here, and you know what that means – brighter days are literally and figuratively ahead of us. With the days getting longer and the mercury beginning its slow and steady climb north, itā€™s time to refresh your fits.

Spring dressing is all about lightening up your look – not just from a layering perspective, but from a colour point of view as well. While autumn sees many of us adopt earthy, neutral tones, and winter is dominated by black puffers (talking about you, Melbourne), spring is a time for the light and bright.Ā

By now you should know that Iā€™m here to help – think of me as that little black book of cheat codes you can look up whenever you need (speaking of cheat codes, Johnny Cageā€™s deadly uppercut in the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 1 is an all time classic – Forward, Forward, Forward, High Punch for a breathtaking moment of over-the-top arcade gore).Ā

Letā€™s get into our picks for the top spring selects.

Spring Selects Tom Sachs

NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe Tom Sachs Archive Dark Sulfur

Iā€™ve gotta be honest – most of the time these sorts of ideas miss the mark. Brands try to almost reverse engineer an already established look from the street, and most times the culture doesnā€™t adopt it. But these – these work.Ā

The NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe Tom Sachs Archive Dark Sulfur is a true all-rounder. Its got a minimalist aesthetic mixed with retro styling of the 70ā€™s and 80ā€™s, and the lugged outsole (a nice tribute to the vibes of the original Mars Yard) means youā€™re good to go if the apocalypse comes (I imagine thereā€™s a lot of dirt, soil, and just generally unstable footing in an apocalyptic world).

These really are what they say – a general purpose all rounder that you can wear with a number of looks. Great for when youā€™re travelling or need versatility.

Spring Selects NB 550

New Balance 550 White Grey

The New Balance 550 – you either have them, or youā€™re about to. Thatā€™s how it goes in 2022 with the New Balance 550. I donā€™t make the rules but I will enforce them.Ā

The 550 has become a hit for its classic shape as much as anything else. Originally a basketball shoe in the 80ā€™s, the 550 is now a key building block to your spring fit. A crisp white leather upper provides the perfect platform for puffed N logos, while a New Balance Basketball label on the tongue provides the heritage link you didnā€™t know you needed. The grey outsole ties it all together.

Spring Selects FOG

Fear of God Essentials T-shirt Egg Shell

I honestly thought the Fear of God thing was going to fade out, and then Jerry Lorenzo (if he was Australian we would call him ā€˜Jezzaā€™ in the spirit of creating nicknames out of literally any name) goes and drops a fresh set of colours and styles on us, and weā€™re right back here.Ā

This Fear of God Essentials T-shirt in Egg Shell actually slaps – the oversized branding on the left chest is a nice switch up, and the colour is *chefs kiss*. These are moving fast on StockX, and the pricing is pretty good – cop yours today and be ready for whatever.

Kith Marvel Spider-Man Allies Vintage Tee

Dropping back in July, the Kith Spider-Man collection celebrates the connection between Kithā€™s New York roots, and Queensā€™ favourite superhero. The Allies Vintage Tee features a bold front print of Spider-Man getting ready to unleash some serious heat, while the reverse is a whoā€™s-who of Peter Parkerā€™s big homies, including Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and others.Ā

Whyā€™s this a must cop? Itā€™s Kith, itā€™s Spider-Man, itā€™s a fun graphic tee that you can style up or down, and itā€™s a guaranteed talking point.

Swatch x Omega Bioceramic Moonswatch Mission to the Moon

Is this 2022ā€™s hottest culture release? Itā€™s hard to think of another product that has shaken up an industry the way the Swatch x Omega Moonswatch collection did when it dropped back in March. Almost instantly, huge crowds of shoppers descended on retail outlets around the world, causing mass hysteria and driving resale prices through the roof.Ā

Things have calmed since then, but supply remains limited. The best way to cop? Buy it now on StockX and skip the chaos. Aint nobody got time for that. Time, get it? Niice.Ā

Fear of God Essentials Hoodie Coral

You canā€™t stop the force of Fear of God. Not when theyā€™re dropping heaters like this. The Fear of God Essentials Hoodie Coral feels like the colour none of us knew we needed, but now itā€™s out – we gotta have it.Ā

A fresh update on Fear of Godā€™s staple hoodies, this one features tonal branding on the front, complete with a kangaroo pocket for when youā€™re trying to sneak outside snacks into movie theatres. Me? I definitely sneak a Twix in, but I balance that out by paying $400 for a choc top and a medium Coke.Ā

Anyway, this hoodie is the one you want for spring – by this point in the year weā€™ve seen enough of the dark or plain hoodies. Inject a little colour into your fit and light up the room.
