To celebrate a decade of Supreme x The North Face, we take a look back at some of the highlights from the brands' collaborations.

To celebrate a decade of Supreme x The North Face, we take a look back at some of the highlights from the brands' collaborations.

Few fashion love stories have proved more fruitful than the one between Supreme and The North Face.Ā

For well over a decade, the iconic streetwear label and outdoor stalwarts have been consistently hitting the sweet spot whenever theyā€™ve gone to work together, delivering time and time again on both aesthetic and quality.

Whether itā€™s showstopping statement pieces or premium grade outerwear offering sturdy protection from the elements, The North Face x Supreme has well and truly beenā€”and continues to beā€”one of our favourite link-ups of all time since they first got together way back in 2007.

With all that being said, and with the two having just dropped their latest SS22 collection, it only seems fit to cast our minds back through the years at some of the highlights so far.

Supreme The North Face Venture Jacket – SS12

Kicking things off, 2012 saw the pair make use of striking all-over prints of a traditional world map, applying it to The North Faceā€™s staple Venture Jacket in two colourways; a straightforward black and white, and this standout vintage tan which proved a huge hit with outdoor enthusiasts.Ā

Supreme TNF Fur Print Nuptse Jacket – FW13

When you think about The North Face, your mind will likely immediately wander towards the now-iconic Nuptse coat. Arguably the outerwear brandā€™s most recognisable piece of kit, Supreme stepped in to offer their own typically striking take on the template, leading to this weird and wonderful creation.Ā

Supreme The North Face Expedition Coaches Jacket – SS14

World maps made a welcome return in 2014, this time in a much more vibrant fashion than 2012ā€™s Venture Jacket. A debut for the Expedition Coaches Jacket, which added a waterproof shell and detachable hood, the capsule opted for bigger, bolder brandingā€”take the blocked SUPREME type down the left armā€”in a fitting celebration of ā€˜90s geological wear.Ā

Supreme TNF Bandana Mountain Jacket – FW14

Now renowned as one of the partnershipā€™s most sought-after drops so far, the paisley bandana print that appeared in 2014 instantly struck a chord with streetwear and outdoor fanatics alike. Fast-forward to the present day, and all three colourways of the Bandana Mountain Jacket are practically gold dust.Ā

Supreme The North Face By Any Means Nuptse Jacket – FW15

Originally stemming from Jean-Paul Sartreā€™s play, Dirty Hands, ā€˜By Any Means Necessaryā€™ became a phrase synonymous with Malcolm X and the fight for fundamental human rights regardless of race. Adopting those words in 2015, this capsule became probably the most Supreme-influenced of the lot, and another meteoric hit for the two.Ā

Supreme TNF Steep Tech Hooded Jacket – SS16

Utilising tech first introduced back in 1991 by skier Scot Schmidt, the Steep Tech Hooded Jacket was all about practicality, though there was no risk of the capsule sacrificing an ounce of style as a result of that. Durable slope-ready materials and strategically positioned pockets meet loud, contrasting colour blocks for one of the more heavy-duty drops.Ā

Supreme The North Face Mountain Parka – FW17

The Autumn of 2017 saw the return of all-over graphics, and in a big way. The much-loved lightweight Mountain Parka was painted with a snowy peak, a print that quickly became a favourite in the Supreme x The North Face catalogue, and a colossal commercial triumph for both brands.Ā

Supreme The North Face Snakeskin Taped Seam Coaches Jacket – SS18

Veering off in a very different direction the following year was the emergence of this snakeskin print, which was applied to a spring-ready traditional coach jacket with pretty spectacular results. For any extra keen aficionados, this capsule even featured a Supreme x The North Face Storm Break Tent.Ā

Supreme The North Face Statue of Liberty Baltoro Jacket – FW19

Fall 2019 was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, with the famous landmark inflated and plastered across a capsule of which the highlight was no doubt the two iterations of the hefty 700 fill down insulated Baltoro Jacket. Along with that, there was a new take on the Mountain Jacket, waterproof backpacks, hooded sweatshirts and tees.Ā

Supreme The North Face RTG Jacket & Vest – SS20

Another piece where outdoor practicality took the leading role in terms of design came when Supreme dug into The North Faceā€™s Remote Terrain Gear archives. With GORE-TEX construction, the climbing-inspired two-piece ensemble features a detachable hydration-compatible vest and adjustable harness for optimal fit.Ā

Supreme The North Face Studded Nuptse Jacket – SS21

Another collection, another take on the Nuptse Jacket. Hell, if it ainā€™t broke, donā€™t fix it. Last year saw Supreme reimagine the style once again, this time applying a rough and ready rock stud print to the cherished piece in black, red and blue palettes.Ā

Supreme The North Face Summit Series Rescue Baltoro Jacket – SS22

And here we are, the latestā€”and almost certainly not the lastā€”from the partnership that keeps on giving. Leading the recently-released Summit Series is another fresh camo take on the ever-dependable Baltoro Jacket, which is joined by the Mountain Pro Jacket and Pants, Chugach 16 Backpack, Base Layer Long Sleeve and Smith Squad MAG Goggles.
