Just a few months ago, Virgil Abloh announced a medical leave that would pull him out of all working endeavors for what was supposed to have been six months. Despite that only just recently coming to an end, Virgil Abloh jumped right back in, releasing two new Off-White streetwear collaborations in February. With Supremeās opening week coming near the end of the month and Virgil Ablohās collaborative endeavors coming earlier, February was filled thoroughly with drops that moved the needle. Supremeās return and Ablohās continued domination of the streetwear space (despite pronouncing it dead), left little room for other brands as the only other release to make real waves in February was LeBronās Space Jam themed collaboration with Nike. Check out an in-depth look at the most popular new streetwear additions to the StockX catalog in February below!
Supreme Tees
Supreme is back and this season is really good. SS20 as a whole is shaping up to be full of hot items, both in terms of apparel and accessories, but Week One was particularly exciting. The drop featured more than 10 new tees, including the long awaited Tupac Tee. While it was rumored that the Tupac Tee would release as a photo tee, the brand instead paid homage to his 2012 hologram performance at Coachella. The Tupac Tee has been the undisputed best seller of the SS20 Week One drop, reselling over 1,700 tees in the black colorway and over 600 in the white colorway. The Supreme Shop tee was also a massive hit, reselling over 850 tees in black and over 500 in white. Supremeās SS20 tees have, in total, already resold over 10,000 times and most with prices near and slightly above retail. A curated selection of Supremeās SS20 tees can be shopped below, and every single tee released by Supreme as a part of their SS20 Week One drop can be shopped on StockX here.
Virgil Abloh (Off-White x Jordan + Off-White x Nike)
Despite pronouncing streetwear to be dead in a recent interview with Dazed, Virgil Abloh is still making quite a lot of it. He collaborated with Nike in early February, taking his runwear from exclusively womenās products to a unisex collection, which featured hoodies, tees, and more for men and women. Just a week later, he was back at it with Jordan Brand, releasing a five piece collection for All-Star Weekend which took place in Virgilās hometown of Chicago. Both releases featured top items for the month with the Nike collectionās hoodie and Jordan capsuleās tee posting sales numbers of over 1,000 units. Both collections were major movers in February and a curated selection of Virgilās collaborative streetwear work from the month can be shopped below. Supreme Accessories
Supremeās Tees weren’t the only hot items of SS20 Week One. The brand also released several accessories that moved the needle and posted monster sales volume. The immediate standout, as a surprise to no one, is the Glow In The Dark Zippo Lighter. The lighter features the same design as Supremeās red SS18 Zippo, and has quickly become the third most popular Zippo lighter on StockX ever, posting sales of over 1,400 units already. Released alongside the Zippo was the Supreme Numark Turntable, which has posted over 800 sales on StockX, and two Nalgene colorways which have totalled over 900 total sales. LeBron x Nike Space Jam
Supreme and Virgil Abloh dominated the month of February, leaving little room for any other brands to truly step in and make waves, but a two item capsule by LeBron and Nike made just enough noise to be noticed. The NBA superstar and Nike released the jerseys of the two major teams in Space Jam just ahead of All-Star Weekend. While the Tunesquad jerseys well outperformed the Monstars jersey, the two combined for over 700 sales, not bad for a small capsule released in between two major Off-White collaborations.
