Fear Of Godâs growth has been refreshing. In the brandâs seven year history, Fear Of Godâs signature silhouettes and design motifs have only slightly changed, yet with each new collection, those signatures become more refined. When Fear Of God and Nike announced their first collection in the fall of 2018, Jerry Lorenzo revealed that the two brands had been in collaboration talks for almost three years. Delivering a partnership that made sense and told a clear compelling story was Lorenzo’s objective and the collaboration was worth putting off until that could be achieved effectively.Â
Lucky for us, Fear Of God found a way to work Nike into their story and over the last two years the two have released more than 10 original sneakers and several apparel collections. The Air Fear Of God 1 released in November of 2018 as the first original sneaker created between the two brands. Since its release, Fear Of God and Nike have delivered a healthy assortment of colors in the Air Fear Of God 1 plus multiple other sneakers in addition to the Air FOG. In terms of apparel, Fear Of God has consistently delivered the Nike-version of Jerry Lorenzoâs refined casual style with precision. Pieces like the Double Hood Hoodie or Tear Away Sweatpants demonstrate Fear Of Godâs ability to elevate a Nike classic and even resurrect a garment considered long deceased.Â
With each delivery of a Fear Of God x Nike sneaker or apparel item, the thoughtfulness behind each collection is made more and more obvious. Last week, Fear Of God and Nike delivered another apparel collection featuring new t-shirts, warm-up pants, basketball shorts, and jackets. The collection makes it clear that it’s 90âs NBA-inspired, delivering throwback cuts and designs that prominently feature the Associationâs logo. The lookbook communicates the vintage thought and essence of the partnership at first look, reminding us just how well done each previous release from Fear Of God and Nike has been as well. These two never miss so weâve rounded up our favorite items from Fear Of God x Nike history as a reminder.
Nike Air Fear Of God 1 in Black
The Nike Air Fear Of God 1 in black is the OG. Designed with performance in mind, these shoes were released with the hope that theyâd actually get played in. While that hasnât exactly been a reality, these shoes have become a major Fear Of God statement piece. This original Nike silhouette features design elements that are undeniably Fear Of God influenced. With a zipper on the back and a lacing system that wraps around the sneaker, these shoes are basically begging to be worn with a pair of Fear Of God Sweatpants.Â
Fear Of God x Nike Warm Up T-Shirt
This Fear Of God x Nike t-shirt dropped as a part of the two brandsâ most recent apparel collaboration in November of 2020. The shirts basically deliver the Nike version of Fear Of God Essentialsâ popular 3D Silicon Boxy T-shirt, replacing the ESSENTIALS logo with a Fear Of God logo, Swoosh logo, and NBA logo. Fear Of God x Nike t-shirts have historically been released featuring more minimal branding but this t-shirt proudly displays the logos on its chest. Made from a thick 100% cotton material, the Fear Of God x Nike Warm Up T-shirt is designed to emulate a 90âs NBA style.Â
Nike Air Fear Of God 1 in Yellow
The first two colorways of the Air Fear Of God 1 followed in the footsteps of Jerry Lorenzoâs more traditional colorways. After dropping the black colorway, Fear Of God and Nike made a light bone colorway which also held true to the brandâs usual muted grayscale color palette. The two brands flipped the script in the summer of 2019, dropping two colors of the sneaker in a more fluorescent variety. Then in July of 2019, at ComplexCon in Chicago, Fear Of God and Nike released a yellow version, the most hyped colorway of the shoe to date. The yellow version of this shoe trades for the highest price premium of any other Nike Air Fear Of God 1 on StockX. This colorway has become so popular that an action figure of Jerry Lorenzo was released wearing this model of the Fear Of God x Nike collaboration.
Fear Of God x Nike Tear Away Pants
Fear Of God and Nike resurrected the Tear Away Pant as a part of their inaugural collection in the fall of 2018 and have maintained the detail in nearly every pair of pants dropped since then. But these arenât the same tear away pants your mom bought you during the late 90âs and early 2000âs, theyâre just inspired by those. These collaborative Nike sweatpants have taken that design detail and added them to the universally adored fit of the Fear Of God sweatpant. If tear away details werenât enough to set these pants apart, they also feature a velcro strap at the ankles. If weâre talking about an apparel item that delivers well on a blast from the past, these Fear Of God x Nike Sweats are as good as it gets.
Nike Air Skylon 2
Not every collaborative Fear Of God x Nike sneaker has been an Air Fear Of God 1. The two have also come together to update Nike silhouettes like the Air Skylon 2. This sneaker didnât receive the same noise and hype as the Air Fear Of God 1 model but that doesnât take away from its versatility and accessibility. With the Air Skylon 2, Fear Of God has elevated the silhouette to create a casual runner thatâll fit naturally into any Fear Of God fanâs sneaker rotation. Having dropped in a white, black, and light bone colorway, this is the go-to Fear Of God model if youâre looking for a more affordable option.
Fear Of God x Nike Double Hood Hoodie
Jerry Lorenzo has become a master at taking the building blocks of our casual wardrobe and elevating them to a level appreciated even by those who donât claim to be Fear Of God fans. Itâs hard to look at what Fear Of God has done with items like the hoodie or sweatpant and not be impressed. Fear Of God brought that same energy to their collaborative Double Hood Hoodie with Nike. This hoodie was only dropped in one colorway, dust/sail, and as the name suggests, it has two hoods, delivering a brand new kind of layering look. This iteration of whatâs perhaps the most traditional apparel item in streetwear demonstrates the unique spirit that Fear Of God has brought to its Nike collections.
Nike Air Fear Of God 1 in Oatmeal
Nothing beats the classics and this Air Fear Of God 1 takes the original Nike design and combines it with one of Jerry Lorenzoâs most utilized color palettes. This sneaker gives off big earth tone vibes and features a touch of blue in the heel for a pop of color thatâll take your fit to the next level, especially if the rest of your outfit is comprised of similar shades. Match these up to the Fear Of God x Nike Double Hood hoodie above and this charcoal pair of FOG Essentials sweats and youâve got quite the banger on your hands. If youâre looking for a sneaker to neutralize and ground your outfit, the Air Fear Of God 1 in Oatmeal is the one.
