Introducing: Casablanca

Casablanca is telling a universal story, one that is heavily injected with ideas of beauty and positivity. Founded just under four years ago by Charaf Tajer, Casablanca has recently exploded onto the luxury scene. To this point, their most notable collaborative work has taken place with New Balance, but it’s their reimagination of the après-sport aesthetic and incredible storytelling that sets them apart from the rest of the field. In an interview with V Magazine, Tajer voices his many desires for his brand, saying that it is a “lens through which people see positivity,” “a celebration of the world and its beauty,” and that it explores “the romanticism and nostalgia of visiting different places,” and “the invitation to travel.”

Those visions, all of which are separate but linked, come together in Casablanca’s pieces. The results are collection after collection of luxurious, colorful, almost incandescent silk shirts that are balanced by light, playful wardrobe essentials like graphic t-shirts, crewnecks, and sweatpants. Casablanca’s Spring/Summer 2022 Masao San collection, which was inspired by a combination of Japanese retrofuturism and Italian Memphis design, was added to the StockX catalog earlier this year. The brand’s most popular pieces range from colorful silk shirts and swimsuits to graphic t-shirts and crewnecks.

Casablanca Lucid Dreams Short Sleeve Silk Shirt

Casablanca’s Lucid Dreams Short Sleeve Silk Shirt is a full culmination of the brand’s pairing of bright colors and luxurious fabrics. Made from a 100% silk, the shirt features an abundance of dazzling colors that all seem to run together, delivering the impression that it glows. The back of the shirt features a large colorful graphic of a sun setting over an ocean with the brand’s name featured prominently across it. Casablanca Soleil Levant Short Sleeve Silk Shirt

Casablanca’s luxurious silk shirts are truly beautiful. If the Lucid Dreams Silk Shirt wasn’t quite for you, perhaps their Soleil Levant Silk Shirt is a better fit. The name Soleil Levant is the same as the Claude Monte piece that is often translated as  “Impression, Sunrise” (even if that isn’t a direct translation). While the shirt does seem to feature some similar imagery as the impressionist painting, Casablanca’s shirt is far brighter. The shirt features a full palette of cascading colors, delivering another dazzling and beautiful piece. The mixture of bright colors and pastel hues is completed by a Casablanca logo on the back of the shirt, above a blue mountain graphic that can also be found near the bottom of the shirt on the front.

As a luxury brand built on seeing beauty in the world, Casablanca is also doing what they can to sustainably produce their products in a way that takes care of the planet. Their Logo Patch Swim Shorts are not only stylish and fitting for summer, but also primarily made from recycled polyethylene. Casablanca Memphis Icon T-shirt Green

Casablanca’s Memphis T-shirt was released as a part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 season and, as its name suggests, is a direct reference to the inspiration of the Italian Memphis Design era. Memphis Design was a radical design movement from the 1980s that featured colors, shapes, and patterns mashed together. The graphic on the front of the t-shirt delivers a kaleidoscopic graphic on its chest, combining the clashing colors, shapes, and patterns of the Memphis period in a tasteful and striking way. Additionally, this t-shirt features the word “Casa” at the top of the graphic and incorporates a table tennis racquet and ball as an homage to their apres-sport aesthetic. As far as luxury t-shirts go, you’d be hard pressed to find one that’s more playful or better suited for the summer 2022 season.

Casablanca Memphis Icon Crewneck Sweatshirt

If athleisure is more your speed, Casablanca’s Memphis Icon Graphic is also available on a crewneck sweatshirt. This white crewneck is made from a 100% organic cotton material and features the same graphic as the t-shirt mentioned above. Though sold out at a number of online retailers, this luxurious crewneck sweatshirt is available on StockX for below its retail price. Casablanca Logo Patch Knitted Polo

The knitted polo is one of the most popular apparel pieces of 2022 so far and like the rest of Casablanca’s catalog, their take on the knitted polo delivers a high-luxury take on the piece. Made from a cotton and nylon blend, this knitted polo features a ribbed finish running down the body and faux-pearl buttons. It also has a slightly wider than usual collar and features a red Casablanca logo on its chest.
