For the New Balance 1500WTU, Solebox introduced a toothpaste themed release. Each color of the New Balance 1500WTU represented a different flavor of mint and orange toothpaste. Many features made these shoes unique when they were released, including the use of patent leather which was very rare for a 1500. Each shoe featured a numbered stud on the top eyelet designating the release number of the 200 pairs and a matching, branded toothbrush.
To celebrate the release Solebox founder Hikmet Sugeor auctioned off the first two pairs through a Hypebeast charity competition.
