Virgil Abloh’s collaborative furniture collection with IKEA finally released and Cactus Plant Flea Market maintained their momentum, releasing new Born Again hoodie colorways and more new streetwear. Collaborative merchandise also had a moment last month as Takashi Murakami continued his relationship with Complexcon and CPFM designed more merchandise for Kid Cudi and Kanye West. Dover Street Market celebrated 15 years of business on Black Friday, dropping collaborations with several brands including Palace, Noah, Nike, KAWS, and The North Face.
Virgil Abloh x IKEA
Virgil Abloh’s collaborative furniture collection with IKEA has finally arrived. After months of speculation, rumors that it would never come, and several hundred “KEEP OFF” Rug sales, the full furniture collection dropped at IKEA locations around the world on November 1st. The collection sold out at most locations but resale was less lucrative than anticipated, with most items trading for just over retail and even some for below. The “TEMPORARY” Wall Clock resold nearly 2500 units on StockX, making it the highest reselling Collectibles item ever on our platform. The “WET GRASS” Rug has also been a major hit, reselling over 1000 times in the short period of time since it’s dropped. A selection of the drop can be shopped below and the entire collection can be browsed on StockX for close to retail here.
Cactus Plant Flea Market
After collaborating with Nike, The Rolling Stones, and Kanye West in October, Cactus Plant Flea Market returned with more new streetwear in November. The mysterious brand started the month off strong, dropping a collaborative hoodie with Kid Cudi just prior to ComplexCon where several celebrities (including Timothée Chalamet) were seen wearing it. Days later, and completely without warning, CPFM released a blue colorway of their wildly popular “Born Again” Hoodie. Then just a few weeks after that they released the hoodie again in a red colorway. The two new colorways haven’t quite reached the popularity or price premiums of the original, which now regularly trades for over $1000, but have been popular over the last month. CPFM also worked with friend-of-the-brand Kanye West on a Camp Flog Gnaw exclusive selection of merchandise for his recent album, “Jesus Is King.” Shop the collaboration with Kid Cudi and all three colorways of the Born Again hoodie below plus everything else CPFM worked on in November here.
ComplexCon
Takashi Murakami continued his partnership with ComplexCon, dropping a selection of new merch for the event which took place in Long Beach, CA, home of the Los Angeles Lakers. The collaboration featured several of Murakami’s classic designs applied to ComplexCon merch and official Lakers gear. The three-way collaborative merchandise resulted in three-way branded hoodies, varsity jackets, jerseys, hats, and more. The most popular item released is the Mutated Flower Hoodie in black, which features Murakami’s Mutated Flower graphic on the back and a colored-in Lakers logo on the front. Highlights from the drop can be shopped below and the whole release can be shopped on StockX here.
Dover Street Market
Aside from Supreme, the largest streetwear drop of Black Friday came from Dover Street Market, the Rei Kawakubo founded high-end retailer. DSM celebrated 15 years of business this year via a multi-brand collaborative capsule named “Monochromarket” with some of the biggest names in the game. Contributors included Palace who dropped a tee featuring an upside down Triferg, KAWS who turned the DSM logo into a character, Nike who released three tees all featuring greyscale Nike branding on black shirts, along with several other brands. A selection of the drop can be shopped below and everything released as a part of Dover Street Market’s Monochromarket can be shopped on StockX here.
Other New Streetwear Additions
After several months off, and some controversy around its founder, FTP returned in November with their FW19 collection. Highlights from the drop include the FTP Bear Knit, a rip from Ralph Lauren’s famous Polo Bear, and the Camo Logo Beanie. Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw took place early in November turning out a merchandise collaboration between the festival and Japanese streetwear brand, Girls Don’t Cry. Other new additions in November include Noah’s popular Core Logo Tees, released in different colorways, and their Blackbeard Logo Tees, which released in black and burgundy. XXXTentacion’s estate released more posthumous merchandise in November as well. The capsule, titled Bad Vibes Forever, totaled 10 items and feature dark, somewhat scary artwork, the kind of scary artwork that perpetuates bad vibes.
