Nike ended 2020 on a good note with the Bodega Dunk High Legends pack. These two Dunks marks the first collaboration between the Boston-based boutique and the Swoosh. The sneakers’ designs are as unique as the story behind their inspiration. Despite the Dunk silhouette debuting as an elite basketball shoe in 1985, Bodega opted for a baseball theme for the high top. Inspired around “Classic Americana”, the release combined two sports into one while hitting on cultural moments in American style and history.
Each pair from the Nike Dunk High Bodega Legend pack is made to look like your favorite baseball glove from childhood. The upper features a mix of suede and leather throughout the majority of the sneaker. Specific details such as iron-branded Bodega on the medial side, jeweled tortoiseshell Nike Swoosh on the lateral side, and rawhide lacing throughout the sneaker’s entirety add to the nostalgic feel of both pairs. A stash pocket is added inside the tongue, a nod to a baseball mitt’s inner webbed pocket.
