With Virgil Abloh’s appointment to the position of Artistic Director of Menswear at Louis Vuitton, there’s no denying the collision that’s happened between the worlds of luxury fashion and streetwear. Compounding this collision was James Jebbia and Supreme’s honoring at the CFDA awards as Menswear Designer Of The Year among several other moments where streetwear seemed to demand the attention it deserved. As the two come together, the lines have become blurred. It’s now unclear what the true differentiator of the two is as luxury brands send hoodies down runways. This also calls into question the selection offered by our catalog here at StockX. The collision of streetwear and luxury has brought to the forefront brands like Off-White and Heron Preston, both of which will have their full spring/summer 2019 collections added to the StockX Catalog. Scroll down to check out both brands respective SS19 shows from Paris Fashion Week and each individual look from the brands.
Off-White
For Off-White, a brand founded in 2013 (by Virgil Abloh of course), the SS19 menswear season marks their 12th collection. Titled “Jim Stark” the collection draws influence from the 1995 film, Rebel Without A Cause starring James Dean, as well as several other youth focused icons including Bart Simpson and the late Dondi White. Earlier this year we added the Off White x The Simpsons pieces to our growing Off-White catalog and now, the rest of the collection will join. The full Off-White Spring/Summer 2019 collection can be shopped on StockX here.
Heron Preston
Joining Virgil Abloh’s Off-White on StockX is fellow Been Trill alumni, Heron Preston’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Similar to Off-White, we’ve added select Heron Preston items to the StockX catalog in the past, namely their collaboration with Nike that released in February. A well-known Kanye West collaborator, Preston has worked with the likes of Nike, Carhartt, and even the New York City Sanitation Department on a collection to keep used clothing from ending up in in landfills. Highlights from his spring/summer 2019 collection include the Sinister Skull Tee and his classic belts. The full Heron Preston Spring/Summer 2019 Collection can be shopped on StockX here.
