She’s not who you would typically associate with a men’s fashion and streetwear store in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, but Hello Kitty, the diminutive 5-apples-tall Japanese cat is good in any hood, from Tokyo to Melbourne.

So of course the team from street culture purveyors Up There rolled out the welcome mat for one of the most anticipated releases in recent memory – rumours and anticipation about a Nike Air Presto Hello Kitty release have swirled since a hyper limited drop back in 2004.

With the 2022 edition receiving a wider release, it gave the Up There team the opportunity to do something for the whole family – especially relevant given Nike released the Nike Air Presto Hello Kitty in a full size run from toddlers to big dogs. Visitors to the store were treated to an immersive Hello Kitty World experience that wouldn’t have felt out of place in the culture-heavy back streets of Omotesando, Japan.

But it wasn’t just the space that got wrapped in Hello Kitty print – customers were treated to some delicious Hello Kitty cookies (kawaii!), and the opportunity to cop the sneakers and the apparel collection. There was even a fun Hello Kitty mirror for the ultimate selfie ✌

If you weren’t lucky enough to scoop the Nike Air Presto Hello Kitty on release, it’s available now on StockX.
