July was a big month for streetwear. As Supreme entered their bi-annual offseason, other brands such as Fear of God, GOLF, Stussy, and more stepped up to the plate to deliver key drops. KAWS continued to dominate the collectibles space and Daniel Arsham’s items joined the StockX catalog. Take a look:

FOG Essentials

Fear Of God’s FW19 Collection

Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear Of God Essentials line returned in July releasing first a fitted New Era Cap and a full collection soonafter. The hat features the iconic white raised Fear Of God “F” on the front and the red, white, and blue MLB Batterman on the back. The new collection dropped at Pacsun’s around the US and delivered fresh new colorways of the everyday basics the brand is known for. Highlights amongst the drop were the black boxy 3M tee and the black sweatpants. Shop a selection of the collection below and the entire drop here.

KAWS Holiday Japan

After dominating the “Most Popular” section for the majority of the month of June, KAWS returned in July with a Holiday drop in Japan that kept the artist’s momentous run going. The drop was conducted and held in coordination with an invite-only camping trip in Japan in front of Mount Fuji. After the camping trip, the artist released a heavy range of collectibles and merchandise including pillows adapted after Mount Fuji, new Vinyl Figures, a set of Kokeshi Dolls, and even wooden chopsticks. The entire collection sold out instantly and a small collection of the drop can be shopped below with the whole range of products available here.

GOLF

It was only a matter of time until Tyler, The Creator’s brand, GOLF, was eventually added to the StockX catalog. It seems that season after season, GOLF’s collections grow not only in the number of products, but quality as well. GOLF’s ability to land and execute a tasteful collaboration with a brand like Lacoste only further speaks to the brand’s ability to mature. The collaboration arrived and sold out swiftly, posting solid resale numbers with the Tees and the Cardigan as highlights. A selection of the collaboration can be shopped below and the whole drop can be shopped here.

The weekend of the 4th of July was a big weekend in streetwear this year as Supreme closed out their season on the fifth and two other hot brands came together to drop several 4th of July themed tees. Stussy and Cactus Plant Flea Market did not skimp out on branding, delivering maximalist prints on a short sleeve tee and long sleeve tee. The tees can both be shopped below.

Union & Co

Last time we covered Union LA we were talking about what was probably the best sneaker of 2018, the Union Jordan 1’s. This July, Chris Gibb’s iconic store and brand collaborated with Nordstrom on a curated collection of items from brands like Cactus Plant Flea Market, Born x Raised, and even Jordan Brand. Part of the collection dropped at Nordstrom originally, with the rest set to roll out over a few weeks and Union dropped the full collection on their site as well. Highlights include the Jordan Brand apparel as well as the Cactus Plant Flea Market crewnecks and the entire collection can be shopped here.

The announcement of a full Collectibles Vertical came in June and while it may not be here yet, we’re still prepping for it with the addition of several renowned and up-and-coming artist’s pieces. In July 2019 we added one of the most exciting and electric artists in the world’s collectibles with the full catalog addition of Daniel Arsham. Hot on the heels of his Dior collaboration, he also recently released his Cracked Bear collectible in a pink colorway. His entire catalog of relics, figures, and other collectibles can be shopped on StockX here.

FTP

FTP also returned in July with both a lookbook and a collection that has, needless to say, been endorsed by Steve Lacy. Lacy’s appearance in the lookbook came as a shock to many and will likely attract a different consumer than those who traditionally purchase FTP. The entire collection can be shopped via StockX here.

Nike reunited with Dutch Artist, Piet Parra, in July, releasing a Dunk Low and Blazer Low as well as a full apparel collection. The apparel collection featured multiple tees, two pairs of pants, a hat and socks with the highlight from the collection coming in the form of the colorful pink patterned pants. The entire collection can be shopped via StockX here.

Taking place in Chicago this year, ComplexCon launched slightly less product than they traditionally have in past years, or at least less product that sold on the site. The collaborative merchandise with Takashi Murakami was a hit, as usual, and Eric Emanuel posted up a spectacle of a pop-up where patrons had to hit baskets for shorts (read our exclusive interview with Eric here). On the collectibles side of the ComplexCon, Louis De Guzman released a Blue Elevate Figure that sold out almost immediately and Rello dropped an Ozzy The Bad Mouse figure that was an instant hit. Levi’s Stranger Things

Like seemingly every single brand on the planet, Levi’s jumped on the Stranger Things collaboration train as the show returned to Netflix with a new season on July 4th. The brand delivered what was probably one of the better collaborations with the show, releasing several items that could actually be found in the show and playing cleverly on the show’s themes. Highlights from the collection feature all of the Camp Know Where apparel, worn by Dustin throughout the show, as well as the Upside Down Levi’s Logo tee in black and red. The whole Levi’s x Stranger Things collaboration can be shopped here.
