Nothing is untouchable in 2020, especially when it comes to the Supreme Box Logo. Earlier this season, long sleeve tees featuring the Supreme Box Logo were released for the first time ever and, in the spring, a collaborative Box Logo was dropped with Takashi Murakami. There was no evidence that would suggest that Supreme would do anything by the book in 2020. That’s the story of the FW20 Supreme Cross Box Logo Hoodies too. The controversial Box Logo design was featured as the first image in Supreme’s FW20 Lookbook, setting it at the forefront of the collection and creating a sense of shock around the season. The Supreme Cross Box Logo Hoodie release is now the brand’s third Box Logo drop this year and according to rumors, this won’t be the last. Supreme’s range of Winter T-shirts is still set to release in coming weeks and it’s expected that the Cross Box Logo will be made available in t-shirt form as a part of that drop.
The unconventional Cross Box Logo Hoodies dropped in eight colorways, seven of which featured Box Logos of the same color as the hoodie and one that featured a red Supreme logo on grey. Each hoodie is detailed with two embroidered Box Logos laid overtop of one another on Supreme’s popular heavyweight cotton crossgrain fleece. As has become tradition for FW20 Supreme Box Logo releases, the hoodies were dropped alongside eight matching New Era beanies as well. Similar to the way that the Bandana Box Logos were released last year, it’s expected that Supreme will release t-shirts matching the same colorways as the jerseys in the coming weeks.
This drop follows shortly behind the release of Supreme’s Long Sleeve Box Logos that dropped without any formal announcement in October. The Supreme Box Logo L/S release has since become one of the best-selling streetwear drops of 2020 and with that release, the Box Logo has seen its lowest resale prices ever on StockX. The white and red version, a colorway that’s long been considered classic and coveted, is reselling for under $200 USD and in the world of Supreme Box Logos, a resale price point like that is unheard of. It’s likely that Supreme released these Box Logo t-shirts in higher quantities, but in the last two years, the brand has also more than doubled the amount of Box Logo releases per year. In both 2017 and 2018, Supreme dropped Box Logos just once per year. In 2019 on the other hand, Supreme Box Logos were released four separate times and it looks like there will end up being four drops in 2020 as well. It’s likely that Supreme is both releasing more Box Logos than ever on a per-drop basis and providing fans with more opportunities and more varieties to cop. With the Supreme Cross Box Logo release, it’s probable that between the controversial design and overall trend, we’re going to see the lowest Box Logo hoodie prices of all time. Which means that if you missed out on Supreme’s site, this may be the best opportunity you’ve ever had to cop up!
