Supreme has reunited with one of its regular collaborators, Timberland, for their Week 12 release of Spring/Summer 2021. Like The North Face, Timberland is owned by VF Corporation, the conglomerate that acquired Supreme late last year. The Spring/Summer 2021 Supreme Timberland collaboration delivers big vintage vibes through contrasting colors and co-branding on crewnecks, painterās pants, and hats, plus the best release of the week: anoraks.
While the entire collection has emerged as one of Supremeās best collaborations of Spring/Summer 2021 so far, itās the Reflective Taping Anoraks, in all of their nostalgic vintage glory, that have stolen the show in Week 12. Made from a water resistant cotton-blend material, this Anorak features a half zip closure, a pouch pocket and a front zip chest pocket, and 3M reflective taping on the shoulders. In terms of branding, the jacket features embroidered Supreme x Timberland logos on the front and back in contrasting colors. Released at a retail price of $168 USD, a relatively low number for a Supreme Jacket, this Anorak has a price premium potential and is likely to be a bestseller on the resale market.
Supreme and Timberland have worked together since 2006 but most past collaborations have been on footwear rather than apparel. This release is just the third time that Supreme and Timberland have come together to deliver an apparel collection and only the second time that theyāve done so without also dropping footwear. The Spring/Summer 2021 collaboration with Timberland included a total of 24 new pieces like Reflective Taping Anoraks, Track Pants, Painterās Pants, Crewnecks, Camp Caps, and Beanies.
Supreme x Timberlandās first apparel-only collection was released in March of 2020. Featuring just crewnecks and 6-panel hats, the collaboration was met with mixed reviews as critics scoffed at the lack of diversity. Supreme has more than doubled their offering for this season, adding water-resistant Anoraks, two types of pants, and new hats.
This Timberland collection marks the two brandsā first collaborative release since Supreme was acquired by VF Corp. When the announcement was made, fans were curious to see how partnerships between brands under the VF Corp umbrella might develop further. If this collaboration is any indication of the future, fans can continue to expect next level Supreme collaborations with VF Corp brands like Timberland, The North Face, and Vans.
