Golf is in a full swing of influence. The sport’s once pompous and elitist connotation is rapidly getting dismantled and a lot of that has to do with the dress code. Players and brands are embracing a more casual look for their golf outings, think more like Happy Gilmore and less like Chubbs. Brands like Jordan, Nike, and Kith are a few brands leading the charge to making golf a more accessible sport to a larger demographic that might not have originally felt accepted to play simply because of their clothes. This summer, come out looking your best and taking a few swings on the course.
Jordan 1 Retro Low Golf Triple White
Michael Jordan has been a huge advocate for the game of golf. He played in the middle of his basketball career as a form of relaxation. The Jordan 1 Low’s transformation into a golf shoe is like a nod to Jordan’s second favorite sport. This Jordan 1 features a clean white colorway throughout, with full grain leather uppers and treaded rubber outsole, which make it an easy transitional sneaker from the grass to the streets. Be Like Mike on the green, but we can’t promise that you’ll play just as well.
Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG Golf Big Bubble Sport Red
Nike re-introduced their Big Bubble Air Max 1 for this year’s Air Max Day and converted it into a golf shoe for the links. The Air Max line has seen an abundance of golf iterations, with models like the 97 and 270 getting the treaded treatment. This Air Max 1 Big Bubble Golf showcases all of the same features of the traditional Air Max sneaker with just the added treads on the outsole for traction on the grass. So if you’re already a fan of the sneaker’s comfort, then you can get all those same qualities for the course as well.
Kith TaylorMade Mulligan Camp Collar
Kith collaborated with TaylorMade last summer and it’s still one of the most expansive collections to date. Their joint project consisted of a mix of apparel and accessories that could be worn both on and off the course, like this Mulligan Camp Collar shirt. Not only is this shirt golf approved, but it’s also extremely fashionable, as Camp Collar shirts are one of the top trends running men’s fashion this summer.
Jordan x Eastside Golf Pants
There was probably a time when wearing Jordan Brand anything on the course would be looked down upon, but golf has really evolved from its snobby ways. This pair of pants from Jordan and golf/streetwear label Eastside Golf is the perfect pair for your summer games. They’re made from a lightweight polyester material that makes them easy to move around. They’re part jogger pant too, which is a plus for those looking for something comfortable to wear all day.
adidas Adilette White Core Black
Sometimes you just want a break from the shoes and slip into something more comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, sneakers are great (and to me, always comfortable), but after playing in golf shoes all day, you want to give your feet a break. adidas adilette slides are some of the best slides in the market and can provide that after-golf comfort you may be looking for.
Oakley Radar EV Path Sunglasses
Don’t let the sun be the reason for your poor par 3 swing. Sunglasses are an absolute must for the course and Oakley makes some of the best out there. Their Radar EV Path sunglasses are equipped with the lenses that provide full coverage of your eyes, not letting any sun peak through. Alongside their lenses, the glasses themselves are very durable, as Oakley products undergo a series of extreme tests to ensure quality products. These Oakleys will last you for a long time (maybe even a lifetime).
Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses
If you’re looking for something less sporty but equally high-quality, look no further than these classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses. These glasses have summer written all over them. You can wear them with your favorite golf fit or just your favorite casual fit. They feature Ray-Ban’s subtle branding on the arms and right lens, and come in variety of colors, but of course, Black Green is what most people gravitate towards.
