Fall is just around the corner and among other things, that means the weather is about to start getting colder. With chillier weather comes most fashion fanatic’s favorite time of the year to get a fit off. As the layering begins, it’s important to make sure that your most visible layer, your outer layer, is the highlight of your ensemble. Fall is when the jackets come out and with that in mind, we’ve decided to take a look at some of the best jackets on StockX. From classic collaborations like Supreme x The North Face to out-of-the-ordinary partnerships like Takashi Murakami x OVO, we’ve highlighted the best of the best.
DropX™ Exclusive: HBO Max’s The Hype x Justin Upcycled Denim Jacket with Hoodie
If you haven’t yet heard, HBO Max’s The Hype is officially live, with the first episodes of the streetwear-focused reality show available to stream now. Those who’ve already watched the first episode know that Week 2’s competition was to create a jacket inspired by LA but reflective of their own communities. Hype contestant Justin Mensinger, a designer from Chicago who focuses on upcycling, took home the dub in the competition with his reconstructed Denim Jacket. The jacket features a masterful patchwork of back pockets, different denim washes, and multiple different textures. As part of the competition, winning pieces are released on StockX, and Justin’s Upcycled Denim Jacket is available for the extremely affordable price of $150 through our DropX program.
Takashi Murakami x OVO Varsity Jacket Black/White
It should come as no surprise that nearly every single one of the best jackets on StockX is the result of a collaboration. Special things happen when two brands put their ideas together. That’s exactly what happened when Drake’s OVO label collaborated with Takashi Murakami. The two cultural monoliths first met up for an official release in 2018, combining OVO’s Owl logo with Murakami’s popular grinning Flower. This Takashi Murakami x OVO Varsity Jacket features an embroidered version of that logo on its left chest. And while this jacket wasn’t made by the contestants on The Hype, it was worn by the show’s host, Speedy Morman.
Supreme The North Face Paper Print Nuptse Jacket Paper Print
Supreme and The North Face go together better than peanut butter and jelly. The two parties have been collaborating on a consistent basis for more than fifteen years and in that time, The North Face has become Supreme’s most iconic collaborator. This particular Jacket was released as a part of Supreme’s final drop of the Fall/Winter 2021 season. As the name indicates, the Supreme The North Face Paper Print Nuptse Jacket features an all-over crinkled paper print design. The Paper Print design had been rumored to release for several seasons and was assumed to have been archived, never to see an official drop. Its arrival on the tail end of Fall/Winter 2021 shocked fans and capped off the season with one of the most popular Supreme pieces on StockX ever.
Nike x Drake NOCTA Puffer Jacket Black
It might come as a surprise that Drake is involved with not just one, but two of the best jackets on StockX. The artist has been releasing more collaborations lately and his NOCTA sub-label with Nike has been consistently churning out banger after banger. Those hits began with the release of the Nike x Drake NOCTA Puffer Jacket, which features black-on-black details and a massive quilted Swoosh logo on its back. With fall on the horizon and colder weather on the way, the Nike x Drake NOCTA Puffer Jacket could very well be the it-jacket of the season.
Nike x Ambush Women’s Reversible Faux Fur Coat Jade Horizon/Black
Though outerwear isn’t exactly a specialty, Nike does an amazing job at delivering beautiful outerwear pieces as a part of their collaborative relationships. This Nike x Ambush Women’s Reversible Faux Fur Coat is potentially the most iconic outerwear piece that the sportswear brand has delivered in recent years. The jacket rightfully gives off luxury vibes which were undoubtedly what Yoon Anh of Ambush intended. Rounding out this jade-colored faux fur masterpiece is a massive black Nike Swoosh on the back which makes this jacket even more Instagramable.
Louis Vuitton x Nigo Giant Damier Waves MNGM Denim Jacket Indigo
Louis Vuitton has done a lot of collaborating since Virgil Abloh took the helm. While some of the partnerships seem more fitting than others, Louis Vuitton’s partnership with BAPE and Human Made founder, Nigo, has been one of the most exciting so far. This denim jacket was released as a part of the pair’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection and features two separate prints meeting each other in a peculiar way. On this jacket, Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram Print almost looks as if it’s dripping down over the rest of the jacket, which is covered in an indigo version of the Damier Ebène pattern.
Supreme x Louis Vuitton Jacquard Denim Chore Coat Blue
History was made when Supreme and Louis Vuitton met on the runway in 2017. Officially announced via a collaborative Fall/Winter 2017 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, Supreme x Louis Vuitton tore down the walls between the worlds of streetwear and luxury. Since then, the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection has developed a legendary status, demanding astronomical price premiums while becoming rarer and rarer every day. This Denim Chore Coat, and its Supreme x Louis Vuitton Monogram Print, is both casual and opulent, classic and iconic.
Yeezy x Gap Round Jacket Black
With Yeezy GAP said to receive a full and official release in 2021, Kanye West has returned to the public eye, and he’s delivering more than just clothes. The creative resurfaced in a big way for his birthday in June, opening preorders for his first Yeezy GAP Round Jacket and announcing that he had an album on the way. Since then, we haven’t received a full Yeezy GAP release or an album, but we have been given the opportunity to pre-order three different colors of the Round Jacket. The black and blue colorways are set to arrive this fall but it would appear that Friends and Family may have already received the Yeezy GAP Round Jacket in black. This jacket is available on StockX now, while the blue and red colorways are unlikely to begin trading until they’re been shipped.
Gucci x The North Face Print Jacket Beige
Gucci’s collaborative collection with The North Face officially released in January of this year, making it one of the first major collaborations to drop in 2020. The most exciting piece from Gucci x The North Face has undoubtedly been this jacket, which was spotted on A$AP Rocky shortly before the collaboration was officially delivered. Gucci and The North Face’s Beige Jacket ties the two brands together, drawing on the strengths of both parties. From The North Face, we receive a piece of expertly crafted outerwear which in turn functions as a canvas for Gucci’s vintage-like beige monogram print. Just a few short months after its official release, this Gucci x The North Face Jacket is already one of the best on StockX.
