This week, Supreme releases their long-awaited Supreme MG 1/100 RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. 3.0 Action Figure, 2021 Panini Flux Basketball makes its debut as a standalone set, Topps brings back 2021 Bowman Inception Baseball for the first time in five years, and The Pokémon Company International releases the Japanese language Pokémon Start Deck 100. Supreme MG 1/100 RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. 3.0 Action Figure
After being teased in the Fall/Winter 2021 Season lookbook, the Supreme MG 1/100 RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. 3.0 Action Figure is finally dropping this week. The 1/100 scale buildable figure is constructed out of recycled plastic and comes in an all-red colorway with the Supreme logo featured on its chest, shield, and knees. The Supreme MG 1/100 RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. 3.0 Action Figure will release on Thursday, December 16th at Supreme stores, and the Supreme website.
2020-21 Panini Flux Basketball
While the Flux design has been around for a while, 2020-21 Panini Flux Basketball is the first time that it has broken away from Panini Chronicles Basketball. The reflective Optichrome set has a 250 card Base Set, with 50 of the cards incorporating members of the 2020 NBA Draft Class such as LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. There are two autograph subsets, Equinox Autographs and Equinox Rookie Autographs, with both featuring sticker autographs.
The 2020-21 Panini Flux Basketball Hobby Box comes with five cards per pack, and ten packs per box. You can expect to hit one autograph, one Uncirculated Topper, one Atmosphere insert, three additional inserts, one insert Prizm parallel, and three Silver parallels. 2020-21 Panini Flux Basketball releases on December 15th at online and local trading card hobby shops.
2021 Bowman Inception Baseball
2021 Bowman Inception Baseball is the first time since 2016 that the Inception product line has been a part of the prospect-heavy Bowman brand. The 100 card Base Set is joined by several autograph options that feature some of the top up-and-comers’ names such as Austin Martin, Heston, Kjerstad, Julio Rodriguez, and more.
The 2021 Bowman Inception Baseball Hobby Box comes with seven cards including two autographs and one limited print run Base Set parallel. 2021 Bowman Inception Baseball will release on December 17th at online and local trading card hobby shops.
2021 Topps Allen & Ginter Chrome Baseball
The tobacco era-inspired 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter Chrome Baseball returns for its second year. The set uses the same 300 card base set from this year’s regular Allen & Ginter cards and adds a chromium shine to them. While only one autograph card can be found in each case, the autographs included are all signed directly on the card’s surface. The autographs will be a mix of all types of players including legends like Derek Jeter all the way to rookies from the 2021 season.
Inside of the 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter Chrome Baseball Hobby Box you will find four cards per pack, and 18 packs per box. While no autographs are guaranteed, you can expect 18 Mini Base cards, six Base Refractors, and seven inserts. 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter Chrome Baseball will release on December 15th at online and local trading card hobby shops.
2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey
Continuing with tradition, 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey marks one of the early season set releases. 250 cards make up the Base Set and are divided up into three categories: 200 Base, 20 Short Prints (SP), and 30 Rookie Short Prints (SP), with Short Print cards being found in one out of every two Hobby packs. Several autograph and inserts subsets will round out 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey including the Mascot Gamin set that will include internet-famous Gritty.
The 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey Hobby Box comes with five cards per pack, and 20 packs per box. Each box averages one rare hit card, ten High-Series or Rookie SP cards, and 39 inserts from the several different insert subsets. 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey will release on December 15th at online and local trading card hobby shops.
2021 Panini Contenders Baseball
Built from a mix of current and former stars, 2021 rookies, and rising prospects, 2021 Panini Contenders Baseball returns for its second year utilizing a ticket-inspired design. This is an MLBPA set so all MLB trademarks and logos have been removed from the cards. The autographs in the set all come in the sticker format.
The 2021 Panini Contenders Baseball Hobby Box comes with 18 cards per pack, and six packs per box. Inside of each box, you’ll add six autographs, 18 Optic base or parallel cards, and 24 inserts to your collection. While retail boxes such as Blasters were released in late November, the 2021 Panini Contenders Baseball Hobby Box is set to release on December 17th at online and local trading card hobby shops.
2021 Panini Impeccable Football
2021 Panini Impeccable Football is always one of the top premium NFL sets released annually. While each box will hold cards from the Base Set, it is the autograph cards that give this set its appeal. Top subsets include Rookie Patch Autographs, and Elegance Rookie and Patch Autos, with both featuring player autographs and uniform swatches, and the latter also containing a piece of the player’s helmet. Look for 2021 NFL Rookie cards for players like Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, and more.
The 2021 Panini Impeccable Football Hobby Box holds eight cards including five autographs, and three base or limited print run color variation parallels. 2021 Panini Impeccable Football will release on December 17th.
Pokémon Start Deck 100
Pokémon Start Deck 100 should be the last Japanese Pokémon box to release in 2021. There are 414 cards that make up the checklist that can be found in these boxes. Most of the cards are reprints, including 19 alternate art reprints, but there are 35 brand new cards as well. Some cards are previews of what is to come in February’s Brilliant Stars set such as Kingler VMAX and Aggron VMAX.
Each Pokémon Start Deck 100 comes packed with 60 cards and will release on December 17th for a retail price of $7 wherever Pokémon cards are sold in Japan.
