We could seemingly write an entire article on how Travis Scott, since dropping Astroworld, has taken over the world. Among other things (going on tour, launching his own festival, releasing tons of fire merch, etc.) he’s seemingly created his own version of just about every single kind of prior existing tie dye shirt. He’s done traditional tie dye, he’s done bleaching, he’s dropped trippy tie dye, and he’s done the monotone, greyscale tie dye. The man loves his tie dye, or at least realizes that we love it. While he’s been a heavy proponent for the trend, he’s not the only one putting out the colorful mix this season. Brands from Palace to Awake NY to Kith have all dipped their toe in the tie dye waters and tried their hands at the now heavily popular trend (just ask GQ or GQ… again). With that being said, we’ve gone through and compiled a ranking of our favorites, scroll down and check them out.
Best Short Sleeve Tee: Astroworld Tour Astronaut Tee
As mentioned above, Trav’s tried his hand with just about every kind of tie dye he can. The above is unique not only in the tie dyeing, though but also excels via the graphic and print on the back of the shirt.
Best Long Sleeve Tee: Astroworld Tour Burning Train
This shirt, while being a fire regular tie dye shirt, got the nod due to the incredible graphic on the front and how well it plays into the overall design. It’s a perfect amount of color, it’s the right color, and it contrasts perfectly with the rest of the shirt.
Best Hoodie: Awake NY Distorted Logo Hoodie
The Awake NY selection as best tie dye hoodie available on StockX would’ve been hard if it weren’t for the fact that each hoodie is actually a totally unique 1-of-1. With a one-two-punch like the hoodie’s interesting color choices and the fact that no one else has the same hoodie, how could we not put this in the number one spot?
Best Other Item: Fear Of God x Nike All Over Print Pants
The StockX Streetwear Catalog is also home to jackets, hats, pants, and other garments of the tie dye variety and among those, is the Fear Of God x Nike All Over Print Pants in Black and Sail. The pants released as a part of Fear Of God and Nike’s most recent apparel collaboration that released alongside the Air Fear Of God Raids and Moccasins. The pants are a must have and if you place a bid quick, you may still be able to secure them for below retail.
Honorable Mentions:
Hits from Palace, lowkey gems from some newer brands, and a little more Travis.
