The Air Jordan 20 (XX) is a silhouette designed by Tinker Hatfield and was the debut of Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) technology. Inspired by Michael Jordan’s new love for motorbike racing, the sneaker features elements of design from powerful bikes and the heavy-duty boots racers wear on their bikes. Air Jordan 20 sneakers come in various designs and colorways.
The Air Jordan XX is constructed with different materials, which vary depending on the colorway: Leather, Patent Leather, and Nubuck. Two layers make up the upper of this silhouette: the inner sleeve where the shoe laces are anchored and the outer layer with a midfoot strap and an asymmetrical toe cap. This silhouette features lasered graphics on the ankle and midfoot straps with a mosaic of different Air Jordan models, logos, and achievements from Michael Jordan’s career. Ankle straps on the Air Jordan 20 sneakers offer support, while midfoot straps lock down the midfoot section, almost eliminating the need for laces. Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) technology is used on the midsole for cushioning.
Apart from the lasered graphics, the Air Jordan 20 selection sports the signature Jumpman logo on the midfoot strap, the tongue, and the heel counter. Rounding out the design is a herringbone-patterned outsole with grooves for traction. It is decorated with 20 herringbone pods per pair to mark the 20th anniversary of the Jordan brand. The Air Jordan 20 is available in low-cut designs like the Jordan 20 OG Low White/Navy and the Jordan 20 OG ¾ White Garnet, which lack the ankle and midfoot straps. Different colorways are also featured in the selection, including the “Regional Pack,” which offers sneakers such as the OG West Coast Blue, Midwest Red, and East Coast Chutney.
