Jordan Future Sneakers

Originally released in 2014, Air Jordan Future draws from its Air Jordan 11 heritage while adding new elements to bring it up to speed. It combines the lightweight comfort of a running sneaker with the traction and cushioning expected of a high-performance basketball shoe. Air Jordan Future joins a long line of AJ sneakers that blur the line between fashion and sport.

Although the AJ Future brings a revamped version of classic AJ silhouettes, it borrows the Air Jordan 11’s Phylon midsole. This foam midsole comes with a full-length Air-Sole unit and an embedded carbon fiber plate that acts like a springboard. Several iterations of the Air Jordan Future model also bring back colorways made popular in the AJ 11. The Jordan Future Bred Jumpman features the black, True Red, and white found in the Jordan 11 Retro Playoffs Bred (2019) while adding a splash of Varsity Red. Unlike previous AJ editions, the AJ Future boasts an upper made completely of woven material. This offers added stability and creates a sleek silhouette. However, there is an iteration that offers a suede upper.

What sets the Future apart from other Air Jordans is the angled lacing system, which stretches from the inside of the foot, over the arch, and up the ankle. This deviation from the usual lacing cage designs alleviates forefoot discomfort and creates the illusion of the material wrapping around the foot.

The Air Jordan Future primarily offers men’s sizes, although limited grade school size versions are also available.
