Product Description
"The Kelly Retourne is known for its more relaxed structure compared to other Hermes classics, but like its Birkin counterpart, it takes a while to make - 18 to 24 hours to be exact. In fact, before they even get their hands on a bag, Hermes craftsmen train for years in the leather and craftsmanship program at Paris’ Ecole Grégoire-Ferrandi. The bag, named after Princess Grace of Monaco (née Grace Kelly), was originally made in 1892 and used for holding a saddle and redesigned once again in the 1930s by Robert Dumas, the son-in-law of Hermes. It first appeared with Grace during the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film, "To Catch a Thief." She was then subsequently photographed carrying the bag to shield her pregnancy from photographers. This Kelly Retourne 32 Togo handbag is crafted in textured calfskin leather in black with gold hardware. It features a reinforced leather top handle, a clochette, padlock and keys. The Kelly Retourne comes with an optional leather shoulder strap perfect for turning this bag into a crossbody, and features a large interior zipper pocket.
