Founded in 1949, LEGO is a company that produces plastic construction toys. It has a variety of different collections, including the LEGO Architecture line, which features construction kits to reproduce miniature versions of some of the world’s most famous buildings.

The LEGO Architecture line was created by "Architectural Artist" Adam Reed Tucker. It was initially created in 2008. In 2009, there were two lines developed for the collection: the Landmark series and the Architect series. Each model comes with all the pieces needed as well as detailed instructions on how to put the set together. Some of the first models to ever be released were the John Hancock Centre (21001) and the Empire State Building (21002).

The LEGO Architecture line is designed for people aged 13 and up. It contains numerous monuments and landmarks from all across the world, and each kit typically has hundreds of pieces, with many of them having over 1 000, depending on the size.

In this collection, there are kits that represent both entire cities and individual monuments and buildings. For example, the LEGO Architecture Colosseum Set 10276 is an ode to the iconic site in Rome, Italy. There is also the LEGO Architecture Lincoln Memorial Set 21022 that is based on the monument in Washington, D.C. For sets that allow you to build part of a city, there is the LEGO Architecture Venice Set 21026, which highlights several monuments from Venice. There is also the LEGO Architecture San Francisco Set 21043, which contains several monuments as well, including the Golden Gate Bridge.
