Legend has it that Michael Jordan's Porsche influenced Hatfield's design, which is indeed supple, clean, and athletic in the same way the 911s of the 1990s were. The 6 didn't just look great, however. With details like that neoprene sleeve, it was built for comfort and performance, too. As a matter of fact, Jordan won his first NBA championship while wearing this sneaker. It was retroed for the first time in 2000, and a low-top silhouette followed two years later. More recent popular versions include the Air Jordan 6 Retro Travis Scott, released in 2019. This olive variation of the 6 takes cues from hiking boots and looks much more rugged than the original. In 2020, the Retro DMP, or Defining Moments Package, celebrates Michael Jordan's winning ways with gold metallic accents.
