Beyoncé’s IVY PARK x adidas collaboration is back. The brands have returned for their second apparel collection after a first drop in January. Similar to their original release, the partnership features unisex activewear combining the design motifs of both adidas and IVY PARK. Titled DRIP 2, this release is far larger than the first drop, featuring five distinct color palettes as opposed to DRIP 1’s two colors. Announced officially via Queen Bey’s Instagram, the collection dropped on the adidas confirmed app on October 29th and at a number of other retailers on October 30th. With exciting new colorways, very inclusive sizing, and more than double the items of the collection released in January: IVY PARK x adidas seems set on being something for everybody.
IVY PARK x adidas Is For Everybody
Beyoncé made both size and gender inclusivity a major priority of the IVY PARK x adidas DRIP 2 collection. The release features sportswear items for everyone, delivering pieces in body-inclusive sizing and gender-neutrality. Gender neutral pieces, like the dark Green Long Sleeve Hoodie, put inclusivity at the forefront, featuring available sizing from 3XS to 4XL. Womenswear items like the mesh tights or cycling shorts received two offerings, one for sizes S-L and another for sizes XL-4XL. In a world where Supreme only sells hoodies sized S-XL, the inclusive sizing of Beyoncé’s new IVY PARK x adidas collection has never been seen before. This collection will undoubtedly serve as an entry point to an industry that’s been almost exclusive to men in just four sizes.
Five New IVY PARK x adidas Colors
When IVY PARK and adidas released DRIP 1 in January, the partnership resulted in 35 apparel items in two colorways. This time around, Beyoncé upped the game with five fresh new colors: Mesa, Dark Green, Green Tint, Hi-Res Yellow, and Real Coral. The Dark Green and Hi-Res Yellow colorways deliver IVY PARK’s take on more traditional activewear and adidas staples like the track pant and track jacket. The Real Coral and Green Tint colorways on the other hand includes multiple IVY PARK suiting items, from a cropped suit jacket to a regular suit jacket and from suit shorts to suit pants. The Mesa colorway delivers Beyoncé’s take on earth tones and less traditional activewear items like the cropped Shrug Hoodie and the Circular Knit Crop Top.
The Hits So Far
After just one weekend of trading, the Mesa colored Shrug Hoodie has been the standout piece of the DRIP 2 collection. Though the collection features a ton of gender neutral items, it’s the women’s cropped hoodie that’s taken the lead this weekend, selling on average almost two times retail. In second place, we see the size inclusivity and gender neutrality getting its shine through the Dark Green Long Sleeve Hoodie, sold in sizes 3XS to 4XL which has been reselling at a price premium of around 75% on average. The women’s exclusive items like tights, cycling shorts, catsuits, and bodysuits have also been extremely popular since the collection was released, taking up four spots in the top ten items sold. Two reversible bucket hats were also included in the collection and have been top-10 items from the collaboration so far.
