Supreme T-Shirts

It’s hot outside. Being that it’s the beginning of July and we’re dead in the middle of summer, the heat should be a shock to nobody. Except it is, because it’s actually not possible to mentally prepare to sweat immediately after walking outside. Lucky for us, Supreme just released a bunch of new t-shirts to keep us looking cool in this blistering heat. Historically, the late SS20 release has featured iconic tees like last year’s Buju Banton Photo T-shirt and SS18’s Mona Lisa T-shirt. But, this summer’s Supreme t-shirt drop featured the release of eight new tees.

This year’s likely candidate for the most iconic tee of the season is the Motion Logo T-shirt which saw a rerelease this year after most recently being dropped four years ago in SS16. The Motion logo has been a go-to for Supreme in SS20 after it was also released in the form of hoodies and beanies earlier this season. The logo famously takes its design cues from the title sequence of the 1990 mob movie, Goodfellas, which featured the title of the film moving similarly to the motion logo on the tees. The Supreme Motion Logo has been revisited a handful of times, with Supreme slapping it on everything from hoodies to varsity jackets, tees, and even a pair of Vans.

Not all Supreme T-shirts are created equal. While the Motion Logo will undoubtedly go on to be the most popular and, likely, most memorable of this summer’s Supreme T-shirts, the other seven t-shirts are nothing to ignore. The Supreme Lizard T-shirt features a fun Supreme logo made of grass hedging that seems to be ruled over by some kind of Lizard King and the Anno Domini t-shirt features unmistakable Supreme branding as well as some edgy religious undertones. For those looking to this drop for a more minimal Supreme t-shirt, the Marble T-shirt features most of its graphics on the back of the shirt and the Supreme Social T-shirt has just a small Supreme-ified Social Security card on the front. Supreme was even looking out for the dog lovers with this year’s Summer Tees release, dropping the Pitbull T-shirt which features a graphic of a pitbull over a Supreme logo. It would appear that Supreme had everyone in mind this year, dropping t-shirts that appeal to those fond of their classic branding and those looking for something a little less loud.
