Vintage-inspired sneakers should be making an appearance in your wardrobe this season. Here’s the best way to pair them with the right pieces this fall.

Fashion works in a continuous cycle. What’s considered tasteless one day can become the latest trend seen on runways and influencers around the world. Classic running shoes, something that was originally considered “Dad Shoes” or “Workout Shoes” are now seen by everyone other than dads or gym bros. The sneakers are the hottest thing in streetwear fashion to rock with a variety of pieces, from t-shirts and jeans, to cardigans and slacks. If you’re looking to dive into the trend for the fall, here are some of the best ways to rock your new pair of vintage-inspired sneakers.

New Balance 860v2 Black White Silver

New Balance is one of a handful of brands successfully leading the charge within the realm of vintage-inspired kicks. The New Balance 860v2 features a neutral base of silver, black, and white, making them an easy sneaker to pair with many fall looks this year. For these, semi-muted colors will make these sneakers pop. Try pairing it with Supreme’s Shadow Plaid Flannel shirt and a pair of light khaki Carhartt WIP Double Knee pants for a complementary look.

Women’s ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 White Midnight

ASICS’s Gel-Kayano 14 has brought a new wave of attention to the Japanese brand. The sneaker brings that early 2000s runners vibe that people are loving right now, and they’re comfy as hell (I own two pairs myself and looking to add more). Personally, my favorite look for these shoes is anything crewneck. The Supreme Denim Collar Half Zip Sweatshirt brings a unique look to an everyday pullover. Pair the sweatshirt with some jorts (which are also making a comeback) and a Yankees Aimé Leon Dore ball cap to bring some SoHo to your look and you’ve got a fall-ready ‘fit.

Nike Vomero 5 Supersonic Light Bone Black

The Nike Vomero 5 has been revived just in time for the vintage runners trend. This sneaker has the perfect mix of stealthy look with chunky aesthetics that make it a very on-trend pair. They have a more athletic look than the other pairs, so for that reason, I’d rock them with these Fear of God Essentials sweatpants, specifically in black. To keep the sporty vibe going, wearing this Nike x NOCTA track jacket will make it look even more elite and ready for those on-the-go fall days.

New Balance 530 White Silver Navy

The New Balance 530 give off that Emily Oberg, Sporty & Rich look that’s constantly being added to moodboards. So for those looking to achieve that look for the fall, check out these medium-washed blue jeans from Jacquemus and this top from LOEWE. Adding a loose white button up would elevate the look, giving that late 1990s look that I’m pretty sure you’re looking to achieve with these kicks.

ASICS Gel-1130 White Clay Canyon

Another solid ASICS pick up for the fall is the Gel-1130. It’s getting as popular as the Gel-Kayano 14 and is equally as comfortable. To show off the kicks more with your ‘fit, I’d go for this pair of Supreme Cargo pants, especially since they have drawstring on the ankles. Add this oversized hoodie from Sp5der for a comfy look overall for the fall.
